摘要: Rechargeable battery cells and methods for extreme fast charging are disclosed. For example, such a rechargeable battery cell might be chargeable to at least 70% of usable capacity within 15 minutes. Such a rechargeable battery cell may include an anode having a conductive current collector coated with a composite containing at least 30% Si by weight, a cathode configured as a source of Li ions, an electrolyte capable of carrying Li-ions between the anode and the cathode, and a separator between the anode and the cathode, the separator having a porosity of at least 38%. Methods of charging such rechargeable battery cells are also disclosed.

摘要: A lithium-ion battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode material layer, the positive electrode material layer includes a positive electrode active material, and the positive electrode active material includes LiNixCoyMnzL(1-x-y-2)O2, where L is Al, Sr, Mg. Ti, Ca, Zr, Zn, Si, Cu, V or Fe, 0.5≤x≤1, 0≤y≤0.5, 0≤z≤0.5, 0≤x+y+z≤1, and an upper limit voltage of the lithium-ion battery is ≥4.2 V. The non-aqueous electrolyte includes a solvent, an electrolyte salt and a compound represented by formula 1: A-D-B-E-C, Formula 1. Based on a total mass of the non-aqueous electrolyte as 100%, the compound represented by the formula 1 is added in an amount of 0.01 to 5.0%.

The negative electrode comprises a negative electrode current collector, and a negative electrode active layer comprises a carbon material and a silicon material as a negative electrode active material on the negative electrode current collector. A ratio (DC/CC) of an initial discharge capacity (DC) and an initial charge capacity (CC) of the lithium secondary battery is 0.7 to 1.2.
