摘要: A fire-extinguishing or fire-protection device formed from a pressure vessel filled with a pressurized extinguishing medium. The device has an exit opening closed by a closure element which can be perforated by a perforation element. The pressurized extinguishing medium is held back in the pressure vessel from a passively thermally controlled trigger valve attached directly to the exit opening. The valve has a perforation element and a thermal triggering element. The perforation element is prestressed in a triggering position and is retained by the thermal triggering element in a standby position. When the triggering element is triggered as a result of a predetermined temperature being reached, the perforation element is released moving the triggering element to the triggering position in which it perforates the closure element. A thermal trigger valve suitable for use in the fire-extinguishing or fire-protection device is disclosed.

摘要: A nozzle for atomizing and dispersing a discharge flow of a fluid, and a spacing plate for use in the nozzle is disclosed. The nozzle includes a bonnet, including an inlet port for receiving the fluid in the nozzle, and a first surface extending outward from the inlet port. The nozzle includes at least one deflector base, including a second surface arranged opposite to the first surface. At least one spacing plate is arranged between the first surface of the bonnet and the second surface of the deflector base. The spacing plate includes at least one gap extending through the spacing plate in its perpendicular direction (P) and extending from the outer periphery of the spacing plate to a distance (D) towards the inner section of the spacing plate. A discharge port is fluidly connected to the inlet port allowing the fluid to flow from the inlet port to surroundings of the nozzle. The discharge port is created between the first and the second surface and defined by the at least one gap of the spacing plate.

摘要: In one aspect, a fire suppression sprinkler assembly (10) is provided. The assembly includes a housing (20), and a sprinkler body (22) disposed at least partially within the housing and configured to supply a fluid to an area. The sprinkler body is movable between a first position where the sprinkler body is concealed within the housing and a second position where the sprinkler body extends from the housing to supply the fluid to the area heat responsive element (28) operatively associated with the sprinkler body and configured to facilitate preventing deployment of the sprinkler body from the first position to the second position until the heat responsive element senses a predetermined temperature.

摘要: An automatic nozzle for firefighting low-pressure water mist systems comprising a nozzle body and shutter means, said nozzle body comprising a plurality of axial-symmetric components defining an inlet opening and a plurality of inner cavities, which are fluid-dynamic connected each other by means of one or more openings, being said components configured to generate a radial spray through a circumferential opening, which extends all over the circumference of a second component, said circumferential opening being formed between a base of an annular board of the second component and an upper surface of a hollow body of a third component, and two or more full cone sprays by means of the fluid passage through cylindrical openings on a circular and axial-symmetric body of a fifth component, configured to define a turbulent motion of the fluid in at least two correspondent cylindrical cavities of a fourth component.

摘要: A fire suppression system in which the water supply line is fitted with repeating arrays or groups of sprinkler heads. Each array is composed of at least two side-discharge sprinklers. The side-discharge sprinklers in each array are aimed so that their coverage areas point in opposite directions. Each side-discharge sprinkler includes a lateral heat shield. The lateral heat shield has a concave heat-concentering side that focuses radiant heat toward the sprinkler's trigger, and a convex heat-scattering side that disperses radiant heat away from the trigger. In some embodiments, the array can include one or more vertical-discharge sprinklers. The vertical-discharge sprinkler may include a heat collector to facilitate early activation of its trigger. The fire suppression system is advantageous in high-challenge applications like facilities where large quantities of combustible items are stored in close proximity, such as in warehouses and attics.

摘要: Fire suppression systems and methods of suppressing fires are disclosed. The methods may include detecting an increase in temperature that corresponds to presence of a fire, and discharging fire suppressing fluid from at least one fire suppressing fluid source into a fluid passage and toward an outlet of the fluid passage in response to a detected increase in temperature. The fluid passage may be sized to contain the at least one fire suppressing fluid source. Discharging the fire suppressing fluid may (i) draw air from the enclosure into the fluid passage through an inlet of the fluid passage and around the at least one fire suppressing fluid source, and (ii) expel air and the fire suppressing fluid out of the fluid passage through the outlet and toward the enclosure.

摘要: A thermally responsive fluid control valve includes a thermally responsive actuating assembly and a body having an inlet, at least one outlet, and a valve seat formed internally of the inlet. An axially translating sealing assembly is supported in a seated position against the valve seat by the thermally responsive actuating assembly and the sealing assembly has an unseated position upon operation of the actuating assembly. The sealing assembly includes a sealing member having an impact surface for redirecting fluid from the inlet to the at least one outlet and a rod member with an outer surface in a surface engagement with the opening of a cover plate and/or the actuating assembly to orient the sealing member such that the impact surface directs fluid flow to the outlets.
