摘要： A faucet of the single handle mixing valve type. The faucet includes a housing having a domed housing cap enclosing a valve cartridge having an actuating stem movable along a vertical flow-control axis for varying water flow rate, and movable along a horizontal temperature-control axis for varying the temperature. A handle is connected to the actuating stem. A recess extends vertically along the outer surface of the domed housing cap. A releasable stop member is adapted to engage the recess when the handle is moved along the vertical flow-control axis in its cold water only position, and adapted: to release engagement upon application of a horizontal force. A ramp is located along the lower periphery of the domed housing cap outside of the cold water only position and is adapted to prevent the handle from being lowered into a full off position except when in the cold water only position.

Exemplary embodiments include a MEMS device including two microvalves formed on a beam positioned by an actuator, the two microvalves controlling separate flow paths between two separate pairs of ports; a device with a two-way pilot operated microvalve and a four-way pilot microvalve for controlling the two-way pilot operated microvalve; a device with two three-way microvalves actuated by a common microvalve actuator; and a two-way microvalve with a moveable microvalve element and a feedback port formed in the moveable element operable to regulate the pressure on an end of the moveable element relative to the movement of the moveable element between the first position and the second position. Also disclosed is a MEMS device including a beam with a plurality of apertures formed therein, resulting in a mass reduction of at least 10 percent.

An accessory mount (20) is adhered to the rotating ceramic disk to facilitate connection to accessories and to direct fluid from the valve. Flow passages (88, 90, 104, 106, 108, 110, 112) in the disks cooperate with flow passages (54, 64, 66, 68) in the housing and flow passages (116, 118, 122) in the accessory mount to balance the pressure of fluid flow within the valve against the disks to minimize leaks and prolong durability.

摘要： A multi-port rotary disc valve adapted to allow fluid flow from at least one fluid source to a plurality of destinations, comprises a stator with fluid flow ports including a plurality of individual ports and at least one common port. Each of the individual ports is adapted for fluid communication with at least one of the destinations, and the one common port is adapted for fluid communication with the source. The individual ports are arranged in spaced apart relationship within an individual ports' stator sector having a stator sector angular length. The valve further comprises a rotor having at least a first, a second and a third rotor sector with channels arranged therein, being opened to the atmosphere or adapted to connect the fluid flow ports of the stator between them in a plurality of predetermined combinations. The first, second and third rotor sectors have a first, second and third rotor sector angular length, respectively, wherein the first and the second rotor sectors are spaced from each other and their angular length is at least equal to said stator sector angular length. The third rotor sector is located at least partially between the first and second rotor sectors.

A cover connected to the shell defines an aperture communicated with the second space, a first channel communicated with the third space on one hand and the first port on the other hand, a second channel communicated with the fourth space on one hand and the second port on the other hand. A rotational switch extends into the second space through the aperture and defines two cutouts. Different portions of the channel open to selective one of the cutouts as the rotational switch is rotated so that the rotor is driven at different speeds.

摘要： A valve assembly (10) comprises a valve stem (14) with a bore (15) and radial apertures (17), and a sleeve (18) closed atone end and slidable over the valve stem (14) to obstruct the apertures (17). At the end of the valve stem opposite the outlet end, the valve stem (14) defines a fluidic vortex chamber (22) with both tangential inlets (28) and non-tangential peripheral inlets (26), and with an axial outlet (24) communicating with the bore (15). The sleeve (18) defines at least one radial port (32) near its closed end. The valve assembly operates in a conventional fashion except when approaching closure. Once the last of the apertures (17) in the valve stem has been closed, the only flow path is through the fluidic vortex chamber (22). Further movement of the sleeve (18) alters the distribution of the flow between the non-tangential inlets (26) and the tangential inlets (28), so adjusting the strength of the fluidic vortex and the resistance to fluid flow. The valve assembly (10) suppresses erosive and cavitational wear of the valve mechanism, and can provide a wide range of flow modulation.
