    摘要: A tapped surface acoustic wave (SAW) delay line with time-resolved outputssing piezoelectric leaky wave coupling and bulk wave amplification, and having low loss characteristics. A solid piezoelectric semiconductor is placed adjacent to a solid piezoelectric substrate. A pulsed rf input signal is applied to interdigital transducers (IDT) on the substrate. The applied signal launches a SAW in the substrate in a direction parallel to the interface between the substrate and the piezoelectric semiconductor solid. Upon reaching the interface, the SAW is piezoelectrically leaky-wave coupled across an air gap to a bulk acoustic wave in the piezoelectric semiconductor. Reflections of the bulk wave occur at both surfaces of the piezoelectric semiconductor, and piezoelectrically couples back across the air gap to excite a SAW on the piezoelectric substrate. The resultant rf output includes the normal delayed SAW pulse and additional delayed and time-resolved pulses. The amplitude of the bulk wave may be increased using bulk wave amplification.

    摘要: The elastic surface wave device comprises a piezoelectric substrate having a dielectric constant of .epsilon..sub.2, a dielectric film having a dielectric constant of .epsilon..sub.1 and a thickness of h, and deposited on the piezoelectric substrate, and an inter-digital type input-ouput transducer formed on the dielectric film. The ratio of the dielectric constants .epsilon..sub.1 /.epsilon..sub.2, and a function 2.pi./.lambda..multidot.h proportioned to the thickness of the dielectric film are selected to satisfy a condition established in a frustum shaped region bounded by coordinate points P (.epsilon..sub.1 /.epsilon..sub.2 = 1/5,(2.pi./.lambda.).multidot.h = 0.1), Q(.epsilon..sub.1 /.epsilon..sub.2 = 1/5,(2.pi./.lambda.).multidot.h = 0.00016), R(.epsilon..sub.1 /.epsilon..sub.2 = 1/500,(2.pi./.lambda.).multidot.h = 0.0004), and S(.epsilon..sub.1 /.epsilon..sub.2 = 1/500, (2.pi./.lambda.).multidot.h = 0.006) on a graph wherein the ratio .epsilon..sub.1 /.epsilon..sub.2 is represented on the ordinate and the function (2.pi./80 ).multidot.h on the abscissa, where .lambda. represents the wavelength of the elastic surface wave. As a result, the energy of the elastic surface waves is propagated from the input transducer to the output transducer with a sufficiently large power.

    摘要: An improved acoustic waveguide structure which comprises a ridge waveguide disposed in a horizontal direction extending outwardly from a substrate. The horizontal orientation of the waveguide which is in the form of a ledge results in particle motion of the ledge predominantly normal to the substrate plane with the largest motion at the free edge of the ledge and almost no motion in the substrate, thereby permitting a plurality of such structures to be densely packed on a common substrate.

    摘要: Two piezoelectric filters are cascaded for suppression of bulk waves while mutually reinforcing surface wave band pass filtering. Each filter has an apodized central transducer and two outer transducers. In one instance the two outer transducers on one filter differ from the two outer transducers of the other filter with regard to bulk wave generation and reception. In another instance one filter provides asymmetric transmission and symmetry is restored by a wave slow-down for surface waves only. In still another instance the slow-down pad is provided also, but the signals in the two outer transducers are electrically inverted.

    摘要: A bulk acoustic wave delay line including a body of acoustic wave supporting material and having at least one planar surface capable of reversably converting longitudinal wave mode acoustic energy to shear wave mode acoustic energy, the delay line also including at least one transducer for converting electromagnetic wave energy to acoustic wave energy and vice versa for propagating said acoustic wave energy along a path, a major portion of which supports shear wave mode energy and which path is at least partially defined by the mode converting planar surface, the planar surface being treated to increase the attenuation of propagating acoustic wave energy thereat by a predetermined amount, the attenuation provided at said planar surface being relatively frequency independent as compared to the attenuation per unit time of the propagating acoustic wave energy in the delay line body whereby triple transit signal suppression is significantly increased while still maintaining a relatively wide band frequency response.

    摘要: Apparatus provides improved comb filtering of color video signals subject to frequency errors. A charge transfer delay line, part of a comb filter, is caused to vary in delay time in consonance with the frequency errors in the color video signal. A modulator, frequency translates the color video signal such that an associated color synchronization component is translated to a desired frequency. The color synchronization component is compared in frequency to a reference and difference signal generated to control the delay of the above-mentioned delay line and stabilize the frequency of the color synchronization component.

    摘要: A wafer of lithium niobate metallized on both major surfaces is bonded to a magnesium aluminate spinel bulk acoustic delay line. The lithium niobate layer is divided into two separate electrically and mechanically isolated transducers using ion beam milling. The bulk acoustic delay line has a surface arranged to reflect a propagating acoustic wave generated by one of the divided transducers to the other of the transducers, the one transducer serving as an input and the other as an output. The acoustic delay line is suitable for broad band operation at microwave frequencies with at least 50 db isolation between the two ports.

    摘要: Disclosed is an acoustic surface wave device having reduced temperature coefficient of propagation delay within a desired range of operating temperatures. In one embodiment the device includes a piezoelectric substrate comprising X-propagating Y-cut quartz having a cut angle at which point of zero temperature coefficient of propagation delay is at a temperature which is higher than the desired range of operating temperatures. There is included on the substrate in the desired path of the propagating surface wave a deposit of conductive material which has the effect of lowering the temperature at which the point of zero temperature coefficient of propagation delay occurs, thereby reducing the magnitude of the temperature coefficient of propagation delay within the desired range of operating temperatures.
