Abstract: A method for designing, by means of a computer, at least one surface of a lens for a user. The method includes the steps of (i) obtaining displacement information on an amount of displacement between a user specific fitting position and a reference position, the reference position representing a primary fitting point of a lens surface on a reference line of sight of an eye of the user, and the user specific fitting position representing a user specific fitting point of the lens surface determined on the basis of the user; and (ii) causing calculating a design of the at least one surface of the lens on the basis of said displacement information.

Abstract: A refraction measuring apparatus measures refractive properties of an eye by two light bundles respectively passing through two apertures, the apparatus including: a first rotational member, rotatably supported about a first rotational center, provided with the two apertures on either side of the first rotational center; a second rotational member, rotatably supported about a second rotational center, provided with a light-transmission portion(s) and a light-shielding portion at different rotational-direction positions. When the first rotational member is rotated, the second rotational member rotates, and while an aperture arrangement direction of the two apertures changes in accordance with the rotation of the second rotational member, a light-transmission state is entered, in which the light-transmission portion coincides with the two apertures to allow the two light bundles to pass through, or a light-shielding state is entered, in which the light-shielding portion coincides with the two apertures to shield the two light bundles.

Abstract: An aspect is to not impair an effect of suppressing the progression of myopia or hyperopia even in a peripheral area of a spectacle lens. A spectacle lens and a technology related thereto are provided, the spectacle lens including: a first area that causes light rays incident on an object-side face of the lens to exit from an eyeball-side face of the lens and to converge at a predetermined position A on a retina of a wearer; a plurality of defocusing second areas configured to cause light rays to converge at a position B on the object side or a position C on the distal side relative to the position A, wherein at least some of the second areas in a peripheral area of the spectacle lens that is a radius range from 4.5 mm to 25 mm from a lens center have a shape that suppresses a variation in a defocusing effect, the variation being more likely to occur as a distance from the lens center increases.

Abstract: A refractive property measurement apparatus to measure refractive properties of an eye includes: a disk provided with a first pinhole and a second pinhole that transmit light rays while narrowing them; a light emitting unit that emits a first light ray and a second light ray from different positions on a surface of the disk, so that light rays passed through the first pinhole and the second pinhole enter the eye; and a processing unit determines refractive properties of the eye from information of positions on a retina of the eye where the first light ray having passed through the first pinhole and the second light ray having passed through the second pinhole reach. The first pinhole includes a first optical element that transmits the first light ray, and the second pinhole includes a second optical element that has transmission characteristics of transmitting the second light ray.
