Abstract: The disclosure provides a method for producing a polymerizable composition for optical materials by which a polymerizable composition for thiourethane-based optical materials with suppressed coloration can be prepared stably with good reproducibility even though a polyene compound and an aromatic polyisocyanate are used, and the like. A method for producing a polymerizable composition for optical materials, including: a step of providing an aromatic polyisocyanate, a polyene compound having two or more ethylenically unsaturated double bonds, and a polythiol; a step of mixing the polyene compound and the polythiol to obtain a mixture; and a step of introducing the aromatic polyisocyanate into the mixture to mix at least three components: the aromatic polyisocyanate, the polyene compound, and the polythiol.

A polymerizable composition for optical materials, at least including an aromatic polyisocyanate, a polyene compound having two or more ethylenically unsaturated double bonds, and 30 to 80% by mass of a polythiol having three or more mercapto groups; wherein the polymerizable composition has a mercapto group/(isocyanate group+ethylenically unsaturated double bond) equivalent ratio of 1.10 to 1.70.

Abstract: In the method for producing a spectacle lens, the spectacle lens is a cured product obtained by curing a polymerizable composition containing 5-(isocyanatomethyl)bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene and one or more polythiol compounds, the method includes preparing the polymerizable composition by a preparation process including a first mixing step of mixing 5-(isocyanatomethyl)bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene and a polythiol compound with each other in the presence of a first catalyst that catalyzes a thiol-ene reaction, and a second mixing step of mixing a second catalyst that catalyzes a thiourethanization reaction with a mixture obtained in the first mixing step; and subjecting the polymerizable composition to a curing treatment.

A method for producing a polymerizable composition for optical materials, including: a step of providing an organophosphorus compound, a polyisocyanate, a first polythiol, and a second polythiol; and a step of mixing the polyisocyanate and the first and second polythiols in the presence of the organophosphorus compound to obtain a polymerizable composition for optical materials, wherein, in the mixing step, the polyisocyanate and the first polythiol are mixed, and then the second polythiol is further added and mixed.
