Abstract: Connector assemblies having an adjustable polarity are described. A connector assembly having an adjustable polarity comprises a housing and a locking component configured to couple to the housing, the locking component including a compression element. The connector assembly further comprises a latch component configured to rotate around the locking component when the compression element is compressed to change the polarity of the connector assembly from a first polarity when the latch component is located at a first polarity position to a second polarity when the latch component is located at a second polarity position.

Abstract: An optical connector is provided having a ferrule configured to house one or more optical fibers. An inner housing is provided to hold the ferrule and has a distal end in a connection direction and a proximal end in a cable direction. An outer housing at least partially surrounds the inner housing. One or more resilient forward biasing projections extend from one or more of the outer housing or the inner housing for biasing the outer housing towards the distal end of the inner housing. The resilient forward biasing projection may be integrally formed with either the inner housing or with the outer housing.

Abstract: Fiber optic connection assemblies that may include hybrid adapters and connector assemblies are generally described. The hybrid adapter may be configured to connect a first connector type and a second connector type, the first connector type being different from the second connector type. For example, the first connector type may be a micro connector and the second connector type may be an LC connector. A connector assembly may be configured as a micro connector having a tension element configured to facilitate optimized optical performance by spring loading the ferrules while maintaining a small form factor.

Abstract: An optical receptacle for receiving an optical connector is provided. The optical receptacle may be part of an optical transceiver or an optical adapter. The optical receptacle includes an optical receptacle outer housing wall. An optical receptacle hook opening is formed within the optical receptacle outer housing wall. A receptacle hook is received within the optical receptacle housing, the receptacle hook being configured to retain an optical connector within the optical receptacle. The optical receptacle hook opening is positioned to accommodate the receptacle hook in a flexed position when an optical connector in inserted into the optical receptacle.

Abstract: Narrow width fiber optic connectors having spring loaded remote release mechanisms to facilitate access and usage of the connectors in high density arrays. Abstract: A behind-the-wall optical connector includes a ferrule having an annular collar projecting outwardly from a section of the ferrule and a plug frame receiving the ferrule in a central bore thereof, the plug frame including one or more resiliently-biased latches for gripping the ferrule annular collar to retain the ferrule within the plug frame. The optical connector may be fabricated inexpensively due to the low number of components. An optional boot may be provided. An insertion tool for assembling the optical connector is also described.

Abstract: Lockable connection assemblies including lockable connection components are described. A lockable connection assembly may include an assembly for connecting components in an electrical or communication system, such as a fiber optic communication network. The lockable connection assemblies may include a connector (for example, a plug) and an adapter configured to be connected together, for example, using a bayonet-type connection. The components of the lockable connection assemblies may include elements configured to prevent the connector from unintentionally disconnecting from the adapter. For instance, the connector may include a locking nut configured to engage and lock a coupling nut connected to the adapter from rotating and disconnecting from the adapter. In another instance, the connector may include a coupling nut having finger flanges arranged at one end thereof and configured to engage a non-rotatable connector body when connected to the adapter to prevent the unintentional movement of the coupling nut.
