Abstract: Multi-band Wake-up (MWU) signal transmission and detection is disclosed. A transmitter determines a MWU signal that indicates availability of one or more sub-bands to a first user in a serving cell, and transmits the MWU signal for the one or more sub-bands in the serving cell. A clear channel assessment (CCA) status on the one or more sub-bands that are available to the first user is carried by the payload of MWU signals. The MWU signal includes a first user identifier that identifies the first user as a targeted receiver of the MWU signal. The first user has priority over a second user to utilize the one or more sub-bands. Correspondingly, a receiver receives a MWU signal for one or more sub-bands in the serving cell, decodes a payload of the MWU signal, and determines availability of the one or more sub-bands to the first user based on the payload of the MWU signal.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses to enable a user equipment (UE) and a base station to improve reception of a random access response (RAR) by the UE in an unlicensed spectrum. A network may define a procedure for calculating a random access radio network temporary identifier (RA-RNTI) specific to unlicensed spectrum based on an extended RAR window. The calculation procedure may allow UEs transmitting in the window to calculate a unique RA-RNTI and identify a RAR addressed to the UE using the unique RA-RNTI. Additionally, or alternatively, a base station may transmit a RAR including timing information associated with a corresponding random access request. Accordingly, a UE may receive the RAR and compare the timing information with its own random access request in order to determine whether the RAR is addressed to the UE. Additionally, a UE may monitor a secondary cell or a sub-band for the RAR.

In certain aspect, a method for use by a wireless communications device includes detecting a collision between resources allocated to different channels and initiating collision handling when processing the different channels based on the detection, wherein at least one of the detection or the processing is based on one or more characteristics of the different channels or the wireless device. In certain aspects, the one or more characteristics comprise at least one of one or more numerologies associated with at least one of the different channels, a modulation order of at least one of the different channels, coding rate of at least one of the different channels, or one or more capabilities of the wireless device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described for monitoring interference level to selectively control usage of a contention-based protocol. In an example, a wireless device may transmit, while operating in a non-contention-based mode for a wireless link with a second wireless device, a first beamformed data transmission to the second wireless device over a shared channel. The wireless device may determine that an interference level condition is satisfied for the shared channel and transition from operating in the non-contention-based mode to operating in a contention-based mode for the wireless link based at least in part on the interference level condition being satisfied. The wireless device may perform a contention-based protocol, while operating in the contention-based mode for the wireless link with the second wireless device, prior to transmission of a second beamformed data transmission to the second wireless device over the shared channel.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a grant scheduling an acknowledgement feedback transmission for the grant. The UE may identify, based at least in part on a first timing associated with the grant, a second timing associated with the acknowledgment feedback transmission, or a combination thereof, a duration for a channel clearance procedure to be performed before transmitting the acknowledgement feedback transmission. The UE may perform the channel clearance procedure using the identified duration. The UE may transmit the acknowledgement feedback transmission based at least in part on a result of the channel clearance procedure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive first downlink control information corresponding to a first group of downlink transmissions and second downlink control information corresponding to a second group of downlink transmissions. The UE may calculate a number of information bits for a feedback message including first feedback for one or more downlink transmissions of the first group and second feedback for one or more downlink transmissions of the second group. The number of information bits may include first information bits of the first feedback and second information bits of the second feedback. The UE may identify a transmission power for the feedback message based on the calculated number of information bits. The UE may transmit the feedback message including the first feedback and the second feedback using the identified transmission power.

Abstract: Different sets of downlink control information (DCI) fields may be configured for DCI that includes an indication to trigger bandwidth part switching at a user equipment (UE). For example, a UE may receive DCI that triggers the UE to switch operation from a first bandwidth part to a second bandwidth part. The UE may also identify a set of transformable DCI fields and a set of non-transformable DCI fields within the DCI. The UE may then determine updated content of the DCI for application to the second bandwidth part based on whether DCI fields are included in the set of transformable or the set of non-transformable fields. In some cases, the UE may identify a null assignment in the received DCI and may switch its operation from the first bandwidth part to the second bandwidth part based on the null assignment.
