Abstract:
An apparatus and method of directionally controlling a movable partition includes providing at least one roller assembly and a steering actuator, coupled therewith, to a portion of the partition. A controller may be used to control the steering actuator and thereby select, or change, the orientation of the roller assembly with respect to the partition. In one embodiment, one or more sensors may be used to determine the vertical orientation of the partition including whether the partition, or a section thereof, is substantially plumb. If the partition is substantially out of plumb, for example, if a lower edge of the partition is laterally displaced relative to an upper edge of the partition, the controller and steering actuator may cause the at least one roller assembly to direct the partition, or section thereof, in a particular direction until the partition, or section thereof, becomes substantially plumb.

Abstract:
An elevator door system includes an elevator car having a front face defining a door opening. At least one elevator door is coupled to the front face of the elevator car for movement between an open position exposing the door opening and a closed position covering the door opening. At least one drive motor is mounted on the front face of the elevator car and is disposed between a lower edge and an upper edge of the elevator car. The drive motor is drivingly coupled to the elevator door for moving the elevator door between the open and the closed positions.

Abstract:
A roller assembly (10) to engage a track (100) having opposing generally parallel and transversely spaced first and second track portions (111, 112), the roller assembly including: a frame (11) including a shaped hole (15) and a slot (17) spaced from said shaped hole (15); a first roller (12b) mounted to the frame hole (15) for rotation about an axis which is to be generally transverse of the track; a second roller (12a) mounted in the frame slot (17) for rotation about an axis which is to be generally transverse of the track; wherein the frame slot (17) extends in a direction having a component generally normal to said axes and said track portions (111, 112) when in use, and the second roller (12a) is movably mounted in the frame slot (17) for movement in said direction; and said assembly further includes a biasing member (18) mounted on the frame (11) and operatively associated with said second roller (12a) to urge said second roller (12a) in said direction so that in use the rollers (12a, 12b) are urged into contact with said track portions (111, 112)
Abstract:
The invention relates to a damping device for parts of furniture which are joined together by means of hinges and which can be pivoted in relation to each other. The housing contains a damping fluid in the cavity thereof and a resistance element which can be displaced relative to the damping fluid and connected to an actuating element protruding from the housing. During at least one part of the pivoting movement of both pieces of furniture, said actuating element is drivingly connected to the second piece of furniture and transfers the movement distributed to the second piece of furniture to the resistance element. The damping device is arranged in the region of at least one of the hinges which pivotally couples both pieces of furniture, and whereby either the damping housing and/or the actuating element engages with one of the stop element of the corresponding hinges, at least during the damping process.
Abstract:
A fire-resistant smoke-tight sliding door is provided which has at least one door leaf (1), which can be moved in a plane. The leaf (1) is made of fire-resistant glass and is accommodated in a frame (2). The door includes a conveying device, wherein the conveying device (3) has at least one track profile (4) mounted rigidly on a wall and at least one carrying element (5) connected to the frame (2). The carrying element (5) has at least one axle (6) with a conveying roller (7) mounted rotatably thereon with a said running surface (8) made of plastic. The conveying roller (7) has a core (9) made of a fire-resistant material.
Abstract:
A roller which fits into and rides a panel along a guide channel has a molded synthetic roller head and a molded synthetic roller shaft. The head and the shaft are made separately from and then attached to one another. The roller head has a center opening and the roller shaft has an end part which is trapped in the center opening of the roller head without requiring the use of separate fasteners.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a speed regulator for an automatically closing slide door for regulating a closing speed of an automatically closing slide door which is closed automatically, comprising; a generator associated with said slide door; an one-way clutch means for converting a linear movement caused during a closing motion of said slide door into a rotational movement and for transmitting said rotational movement to said generator; a resistor connected to an output of said generator; and a speed change means for changing said closing speed of said slide door, at a predetermined position before the closed position of said slide door, from a first predetermined speed to a second predetermined speed slower than said first predetermined speed by changing a resistance value of said resistor.
