    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry coupled to memory. To configure the UE for New Radio (NR) communications, the processing circuitry is to decode a plurality of CSI-RSs received from a base station on a corresponding plurality of beams. DCI received via a PDCCH is decoded, the DCI activating reporting of beam emissions information associated with the plurality of beams. A CSI report is encoded with the beam emissions information for transmission to the base station, the beam emissions information comprising a flag for each beam of the plurality of beams indicating whether the beam can be used for uplink beam indication. Configuration signaling is decoded with the uplink beam indication, the uplink beam indication based on the beam emissions information and including a CRI of a selected beam of the plurality of beams. Data is encoded for transmission via an uplink channel using the selected beam.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are apparatuses, systems, and methods using or implementing dynamic resource allocation (DRA) of resources for machine-type communication (MTC), as a secondary partition within a system bandwidth. Allocations outside the secondary partition are configured as a primary partition for other than MTC. Apparatuses may perform MTC communications within the secondary partition when DRA configuration information includes allocation information for the secondary partition and the apparatus is configured for MTC. Otherwise, if the apparatus is other than MTC, the apparatus may refrain from performing communications in the secondary partition. Other embodiments are described.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE may receive control signaling to configure transmission of: a first physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) that includes first uplink control information (UCI) of a first UCI type; and a second PUCCH that includes second UCI of a second UCI type. In some cases, if the transmissions of the first PUCCH and the second PUCCH would overlap in a number of slots, the UE may, if the first and second UCI types are not of the same priority: transmit, in the overlapping slots, the PUCCH that includes the UCI type of highest priority; and refrain from transmission in the overlapping slots, and without postponement of the transmission, of the PUCCH that includes the UCI type of lowest priority.

    Abstract: An apparatus of a New Radio (NR) User Equipment (UE), a method and system. The apparatus includes baseband circuitry including a radio frequency (RF) interface and one or more processors coupled to the RF interface and configured to execute the instructions to: encode a plurality of Transport Blocks (TBs) and encode a first uplink transmission using the TBs and in a grant-free mode to a NR evolved Node B (gNodeB); decode a downlink control information (DCI) from the gNodeB; based on the DCI, encode a second uplink transmission using the TBs to the gNodeB, wherein the second uplink transmission is one of in a grant-free mode and in a grant-based mode, and wherein the DCI includes information on an identification (ID) for a hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledge feedback (HARQ) process (HARQ process ID) corresponding to the second uplink transmission, the HARQ process ID being based on a resource configuration index corresponding to the second uplink transmission; and send the TBs, the first encoded uplink transmission, and the second encoded uplink transmission to the RF interface.

    Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to decode a resource mapping pattern of a phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) received from a base station in a wireless network is disclosed. The UE can decode control signaling received in a downlink from the base station. The control signaling can indicate a resource mapping pattern for a PT-RS. The UE can identify the resource mapping pattern for the PT-RS based on the control signaling received from the base station. The UE can encode one or more PT-RS for transmission to the base station in an uplink in accordance with the resource mapping pattern for the PT-RS.

    Abstract: A UE can include processing circuitry coupled to memory. To configure the UE for semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) transmission or a grant-free transmission, the processing circuitry is to decode RRC signaling from a base station, the RRC signaling configuring a plurality of transmission configuration information (TCI) candidates indicating a first set of transmission beams for an initial transmission on an SPS PDSCH. The initial transmission uses an initial transmission beam that is selected based on a TCI beam index. A MAC CE from the base station is decoded, the MAC CE indicating a re-configuration of the plurality of TCI candidates to include at least a second set of transmission beams for the SPS PDSCH. A transmission beam is selected from the second set of transmission beams based on the TCI beam index. Downlink data received in a subsequent transmission via the selected transmission beam on the SPS PDSCH is decoded.
