A method of wireless communication performed by a first sidelink user equipment (UE) may include transmitting, to a second sidelink UE, a first sidelink synchronization block (S-SSB) in a scheduled S-SSB slot, performing a first listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure in an unlicensed frequency band, and transmitting, to the second sidelink UE, a second S-SSB in a slot before a next scheduled S-SSB slot based on the first LBT procedure being unsuccessful.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment may receive an indication of a pre-paging signal configuration for reception of a pre-paging signal associated with a first cell. The UE may monitor for the pre-paging signal from the first cell in response to one or more conditions being satisfied, the one or more conditions based at least in part on the pre-paging signal configuration. In some examples, the UE may receive, based on the monitoring, the pre-paging signal from the first cell, and the UE may output an alert message associated with receiving the pre-paging signal, the alert message indicating for the UE to be relocated to improve coverage.

Abstract: Some techniques described herein provide autonomous modification of a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) of a grant for a transmission by a user equipment UE. For example, the UE may receive a grant (e.g., a configured grant) indicating a resource allocation and a first MCS for a transmission on the resource allocation. The UE may use the resource allocation for a transmission of a number of transport blocks (e.g., one or more transport blocks), and may use a second MCS, different than the first MCS, for the transmission. In some examples, the second MCS may be a lower MCS, associated with a lower modulation scheme and/or code rate, than the first MCS. Thus, a per-resource-block power consumption of the transmission is decreased by using the second MCS, which provides power savings while reducing or eliminating padding of the uplink communication.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which multiple devices may implement sidelink communications for direct device-to-device exchange of information. Such devices (e.g., user equipment (UE) devices) may be configured with resources for sidelink communications, and may monitor for a sidelink preemption indication (SPI) from a base station and determine whether one or more sidelink communications is preempted based on the SPI. The sidelink communications may include a feedback communication that is transmitted using sidelink feedback resources. Based on an indication in a received SPI, it may be determined whether or not to transmit sidelink feedback. The sidelink feedback may be transmitted to one or more other sidelink devices, or to a base station, and preemption of the sidelink feedback may be determined based on one or more parameters associated with the sidelink communications, associated with the SPI, or any combinations thereof.

A UE may establish communication with a set of transmission reception points including a first transmission reception point and a second transmission reception point. In some examples, each timing advance indication may identify a respective transmission reception point using a respective timing advance value. The UE may determine a first timing advance value for the uplink channel transmissions based on the one or more respective timing advance indications identifying a respective transmission reception point. The UE may then transmit, to the first transmission reception point, an uplink channel transmission over an uplink channel using the first timing advance value determined for the first transmission reception point.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuring a user equipment (UE) to communicate with a network entity based on a selected antenna panel reported to a network entity. An example method generally includes transmitting, to a network entity, a report including information associated with an antenna panel selected for communications between the user equipment and the network entity; selecting a starting time and a wait time to apply a configuration associated with the selected antenna panel; activating an update timer based on the starting time and the wait time; and communicating with the network entity based on the configuration associated with the selected antenna panel after expiry of the update timer.
