Abstract: An air cleaner assembly is disclosed, along with related methods. In one aspect, the air cleaner assembly has a housing including a housing body and a removable cover that together define an interior volume for holding a filter cartridge. The housing body can include a first plurality of lugs, wherein each of the first plurality of lugs has a first engagement surface disposed at a first angle that is oblique to a rotational plane of the cover. A second plurality of lugs can be provided on the cover, wherein each of the second plurality of lugs has a second engagement surface disposed at the first angle. A lock mechanism can also be provided that is disposed on the cover, wherein the lock mechanism includes a lock member axially movable between a locked position and an unlocked position to selectively secure the cover to the housing body.

Abstract: A system and method of compensating for airspeed when measuring pressure drop across a filter system on an aircraft may include a pressure compensator, an internal pressure sensor, and an external pressure sensor. A filter media may be located around a housing such that air flows through the filter media into a clean air space defined by the filter media and the housing. The pressure compensator may be located outside of the clean air space and within an airstream of the aircraft. The internal pressure sensor may be configured to measure an internal pressure that varies with airspeed and the external pressure sensor may be located on the pressure compensator to measure an external pressure. The external pressure sensor may be positioned such that the external pressure varies according to a known relationship relative to the internal pressure as the airspeed of the aircraft changes.

Abstract: A method for causing exhaust gas flow to flow at least 270 degrees in a first direction about a perforated tube using a baffle plate having a main body with a plurality of flow-through openings and a plurality of louvers positioned adjacent to the flow-through openings. The method includes deflecting a first portion of the exhaust gas flow with the main body of the baffle plate. The method also includes allowing a second portion of the exhaust gas flow to flow through the flow-through openings of the baffle plate. The method also deflects the second portion of the exhaust gas flow at a downstream side of the main body with the louvers hereby causing the second portion of the exhaust gas flow to flow in the first direction about the perforated tube.

Abstract: The disclosure pertains to a filter assembly comprising a base, a cover, and a cylindrical filter element, the base being adapted to receive the cover with the filter element inserted therein. The base has an outlet orifice with a first sealing zone, and a drainage orifice with a second sealing zone. The filter element comprises an outlet tube with a first sealing element, and a drainage plug with a second sealing element, said outlet tube and said drainage plug being positioned to sealingly engage with said first sealing zone and said second sealing zone, respectively, when the base receives the cover. An axial distance (A) between the first sealing element and the second sealing element is different from an axial distance (B) between an end of the first sealing zone and an end of the second sealing zone facing the filter element. The present disclosure also pertains to a filter element for use in such a filter assembly.

Abstract: A dosing and mixing arrangement includes a mixing tube having a constant diameter along its length. At least a first portion of the mixing tube includes a plurality of apertures. The arrangement also includes a swirl structure for causing exhaust flow to swirl outside of the first portion of the mixing tube in one direction along a flow path that extends at least 270 degrees around a central axis of the mixing tube. The arrangement is configured such that the exhaust enters an interior of the mixing tube through the apertures as the exhaust swirls along the flow path. The exhaust entering the interior of the mixing tube through the apertures has a tangential component that causes the exhaust to swirl around the central axis within the interior of the mixing tube. The arrangement also includes a doser for dispensing a reactant into the interior of the mixing tube.

Abstract: The technology disclosed herein generally relates to fluted filter assemblies, where flutes formed in the filter media extend from a first flow face of the filter assembly to a second flow face of the filter assembly, where one flow face is an inlet and one flow face is the outlet. Some embodiments relate to first flute distance between the first flow face and the second flow face differing from a second flute distance between the first flow face and the second flow face by greater than 2 mm. In some embodiments at least one of the first flow face and the second flow face is non-planar, while in other embodiments at both of the first flow face and the second flow face are planar and non-parallel. Other embodiments are described.
