Abstract:
A device includes a processor and a memory accessible by the processor. The memory includes access category data specifying one or more access categories. The one or more access categories include a sensor access category specifying distributed channel access parameters to be used by one or more station devices to wirelessly communicate sensor data via a network. The memory further includes instructions executable by the processor to send at least a portion of the access category data to a station device to enable the station device to communicate sensor data.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and computer program products for transmitting and receiving discovery and paging messages are described herein. In one aspect, an apparatus operable in a wireless communication system includes a transmitter and receiver. The transmitter transmits a discovery packet during a first discovery interval of a plurality of discovery intervals. The discovery packet advertises a service provided in a wireless communications network, and the plurality of discovery intervals include recurring time intervals when a plurality of devices are configured to transmit and receive discovery packets. The receiver receives a paging packet from a first device during a first paging interval of a plurality of paging intervals. The paging packet indicates interest in the service, and the plurality of paging intervals include recurring time intervals when the plurality of devices are configured to transmit and receive paging packets. The plurality of paging intervals do not overlap the plurality of discovery intervals.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for low overhead paging in a wireless communications network are described herein. In some aspects, an apparatus for wireless communication includes a receiver and a processor. The receiver receives a request from a first device. The request indicates a first period of a plurality of periods corresponding to a periodicity for transmitting paging messages. The processor assigns the first device to a group scheduled to receive paging messages at most every first period based on the request and determines a start time for transmitting paging messages to the first device based on schedules for transmitting paging messages to a plurality of other devices. In other aspects, an apparatus for wireless communication includes a processor and memory. The processor derives an information sub-unit from an information unit associated with a paging message, compresses the information sub-unit, and generates a second information unit associated with the method of compression.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for communicating in a wireless communication system are described. Various processes for reducing the initial link setup time are described. In one aspect a method in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes queuing for transmission, at a first device, a first message for requesting information to establish a link with an access point, the first message including a network identifier for the access point. The method further includes, before transmission of the message, receiving a second message including the information. The method further includes removing the message from the queue when the second message includes the information.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, or computer-readable medium with instructions for beam management for radio frequency (RF) sensing at a wireless device. The wireless device performs a first beamsweep of an RF signal and measures a reflection of the RF signal based on the first beamsweep. The wireless device performs a second beamsweep of the RF signal, wherein the first beamsweep is based on a different parameter than the second beamsweep and measures the reflection of the RF signal based on the second beamsweep. The wireless device selects a beam for RF sensing based on the first beamsweep and the second beamsweep.
Abstract:
In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus obtain a signal from a remote wireless node. The apparatus may switch between a first mode and a second mode in response to the signal. The apparatus may sense the shared transmission medium and sense if an absence of traffic is detected. The apparatus may delay data transmission for a fixed time interval from detecting the absence of traffic. The apparatus may initiate the data transmission at the end of the fixed time interval if operating in the first mode or initiate the data transmission at the end of a random time interval following the fixed time interval if operation in the second mode.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for radio frequency (RF) sensing in wireless communication systems. In some implementations, a transmitter device transmits sounding sequences configured for channel estimation over a wireless channel to a receiver device. The transmitter device also transmits or receives non-sounding frames associated with a channel report of the receiver device. The transmitter device transmits a frame soliciting the channel report from the receiver device. The transmitter device receives the channel report, which may include channel state information (CSI) of the wireless channel responsive to at least the sounding sequences. Some types of channel reports may take longer to generate than other types of channel reports. Transmitting or receiving the non-sounding frames during the time period may prevent other devices from accessing the wireless channel when the receiver device needs additional time to generate a certain type of channel report.
Abstract:
An access point (AP) may prioritize the allocation of uplink resources between multiple basic service sets (BSSs). In some aspects, the AP may select one of a plurality of BSSs, may allocate one or more random-access resource units (RUs) to only the selected BSS, and may transmit, for each of the selected BSSs, a respective frame indicating the random-access RUs allocated to that BSS. Wireless devices belonging to the selected BSS may contend for access to the random-access RUs allocated by the frame, and then transmit uplink data using the random-access RUs.
Abstract:
This disclosure describes systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for controlling a network with one or more access points (APs). A controller may be configured to schedule at least some resources of the one or more APs to improve network efficiency. The APs may measure and report a variety of information and statistics to the controller. The controller may determine one or more transmission parameters and one or more operations a given AP is permitted to perform during a respective time interval. The controller may communicate the one or more transmission parameters using an indication, such as a message. At least one AP associated with the controller may communicate with stations (STAs) using the one or more transmission parameters.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for radio frequency (RF) sensing in wireless communication systems. In some implementations, a transmitting device may transmit a sounding dataset, over a wireless channel, to a receiving device. The sounding dataset may include information carried in one or more training fields configured for channel estimation and sounding control information based, at least in part, on a configuration of the transmitting device. The receiving device may acquire channel state information (CSI) for the wireless channel based on the received sounding dataset and selectively generate a channel report for the wireless channel based, at least in part, on the CSI and the sounding control information. The channel report may indicate changes to the wireless channel which, in turn, may be used to sense objects in the vicinity of the transmitting device or the receiving device.
