    Abstract: A method includes identifying one or more objects in one or more images of real-world scenes associated with a user, adding the identified one or more objects to a list of real-world objects associated with the user, assigning each object in the list of real-world objects to an object class based on object recognition, and providing a notification to the user that a content item has been associated with an object class assigned to one of the objects on the list of real-world objects associated with the user. A computer readable storage medium stores one or more computer programs, and an apparatus includes a processor-based device.

    Abstract: Traversal of a Network Address Translator (NAT) can be facilitated for a mobile device configured to communicate with one or more other devices over a network via one or more wireless access points. A direction of travel can be estimated for the mobile device. One or more wireless access points the mobile device is likely to encounter can be predicted using the an estimated direction of travel for the mobile device. Information regarding behavior of one or more NATs associated with the predicted wireless access point(s) can be predicted. Such information can be stored in such a way that the information is retrievable by one or more other devices or using the information to traverse one or more of the NATs. Alternatively, information can be retrieved regarding behavior of one or more NATs associated with the predicted wireless access points. This information can be used to traverse one or more of the NATs.

    Abstract: When a place where a different panoramic image was captured is present in a direction in which a panoramic image to be displayed is captured, a marker setting unit associates a marker indicating that the different panoramic image is present in said image-captured direction with the panoramic image to be displayed. A mapping processing unit maps, as a texture, the panoramic image to be displayed, with which the marker of the different panoramic image is associated, in a three-dimensional panoramic space. A three-dimensional image generation unit generates a three-dimensional panoramic image when the three-dimensional panoramic space is viewed in a designated visual line direction, with a place where the panoramic image to be displayed is captured as a visual point position. A user interface unit accepts a user's instruction regarding the displayed three-dimensional panoramic image.

    Abstract: Digital pictures may be encoded and decoded in a way that optimizes parallelization. Selected sections of a digital picture in a first list are encoded independently of encoding any of their neighbor sections. Sections in a second list located to the right of corresponding sections in the first list are encoded using at most the section to their immediate left. Sections in a third list located to the right of a corresponding section in the second list and immediately below a corresponding section in the first list are encoded using at most the sections to the immediate left, immediately above and immediately to its above-right. All other sections of the picture may be encoded in a normal manner.

    Abstract: Thresholds b1, b2, b3, and b4 are set in the luminance of a raw image. In an image 84a of the lowermost layer, the region in which the luminance is equal to or higher than b1 is left. In an image 84b over it, the region in which the luminance is equal to or higher than b2 is left. In an image 84c over it, the region in which the luminance is equal to or higher than b3 is left. In an image 84d of the uppermost layer, the region in which the luminance is equal to or higher than b4 is left. In each of these images, the alpha value of the other region is set to 0. The images are integrated with the color information of the raw image to generate final slice images. A display image is generated by stacking the generated slice images sequentially from the lowermost layer at predetermined intervals and performing drawing according to the point of sight.

    Abstract: The present invention is intended to realize character string input using two or more devices by an efficient technique. A character string input system includes a first information processing apparatus and a second information processing apparatus. The first information processing apparatus acquires an operation done on a first input device and acquires a first character string on the basis of the acquired operation. The second information processing apparatus acquires an operation done on a second input device and acquires a second character string on the basis of the acquired operation. The first information processing apparatus outputs an input character string on the basis of the first character string acquired by the time input of the second character string is started by use of the second input device and the second character string.
