Abstract:
A small item pneumatic diverter for high speed diversion of articles, such as fruit, from a moving conveyor in a product handling system. The pneumatic diverter is particularly suited for diversion of small, relatively fragile articles after they have been optically scanned for size, weight, quality or other characteristics. The diverter has a nozzle connected to an electrical solenoid controlled air valve that is connected to a source of compressed air and a computer for controlling the release of air to the nozzle. The nozzle has a plurality of small discharge ports at one end for discharging air towards an article on the moving conveyor. In one configuration, the nozzle discharges air across the top of a small article to provide lift and against the article to off-load it from the conveyor. A delay mechanism is utilized to selective discharge an article after it has been scanned.
Abstract:
An article carrier (1) including means (3) for mounting the article carrier to a conveyor, a carrier frame (4) located over said means (3) for mounting the article carrier to a conveyor and movable about a pivot (5) so as to be locatable in a carriage position, in which articles (2) may be supported on the carrier frame (4), and an ejection position, in which articles (2) are ejected from the carrier frame (4); and a locking member (6); wherein when the carrier frame (4) is located in the carriage position, the locking member (6) is locatable in a first position that prevents movement of the carrier frame (4) about said pivot (5) and is movable into a second position that releases the carrier frame (4), allowing the carrier frame (4) to move about the pivot. The article carrier (1) may be used as part of a grading apparatus.
Abstract:
The machine has a regular structure symmetrical with respect to a central axis and provided with limiting end faces, said structure being disposed with its horizontal axis rotatably supported on its axis of symmetry on the frame of the machine, and bearing a plurality of longitudinal frames in the direction of the generatrices, on which are incorporated the “cups” or buckets carrying the pieces of fruit or the like, each of said “cups” or buckets being freely rotatable on a horizontal axis, and the machine having means for the rotatable support on its horizontal axis of said structure carrying the “cups” for the pieces of fruit, and also means for effecting the rotation of said structure on its horizontal axis.
Abstract:
A vibration transporter for harvesting fruit which includes an inclined platform that receives falling fruit at an upper end and delivers the fruit to a lower end. The platform vibrates to move the fruit from the upper end to the lower end and is coupled to an orbiting shaft eccentrically mounted to a driven shaft. The speed of rotation of the driven shaft is selected to be commensurate with the vertical displacement of the platform so that the fruit bounces toward the lower end of the platform during upward travel of the vibrating platform.
Abstract:
A unit for sorting and packaging products has a conveying line with an endless chain beneath which there are articulated about a vertical axis a plurality of coupling arms equipped with a coupling member for pulling plates equipped with a member for hooking on a product and deployed along a conveying track parallel to and below the conveying line. Along this conveying line there are distributed a plurality of work stations, each having a relief track to which the pulled plates are selectively directed by routing elements, and along which each of the plates is successively uncoupled by automatic pivoting of the coupling arms, is brought into a position of readiness for loading or unloading, and then is recoupled automatically to a coupling arm, and hence reintegrated along the conveying line.
Abstract:
A device for gripping, holding, and releasing objects of varying sizes and shapes, which comprises an elongated torus (30) enclosing a fluid material (31), an external control rod (40), and an internal control rod (38). Torus (30) may be made of a flexible membrane and able to seal in fluid material (31). Fluid material (31) can be a gas, liquid, solid particles, semisolid particles, or mixtures of these. Central channel (34) of torus (30) is collapsed due to pressure of fluid material (31) within torus (30). Both control rods are securely attached to torus (30), with rod (38) attached to the interior portion of the torus along collapsed central channel (34), and rod (40) attached to the exterior portion of the torus on outer surface (32). Gripping action is achieved by differential linear motion of control rods (38) and (40) along the longitudinal (elongated) axis of torus (30). This causes front portion (36) of the torus to slide radially inward or outward to grip objects. Further movement of the control rods can cause the object to be pulled completely inside the collapsed channel for secure gripping by completely surrounding the object. The soft flexible nature of torus (30) allows grasping even the most delicate objects without damaging them. Even over-ripe strawberries can be rapidly grasped without bruising.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a conveyor (1) of leaves and other products (4) on a belt for laying the same products as a single layer, characterised in that it comprises at least a perforated collection belt (3), at least a suction hood (6) having a surface (27) provided with holes (28) for passage of air flow, an air suction device (9) coupled with said hood (6), and dragging means (7, 19) for said at least a collection belt (3), said collection belt (3) sliding by said dragging means (7, 19) along said perforated surface of said suction hood (6), said suction device generating an air flow both through said holes (28) of said surface (27) of said at least a suction hood (6), and through said holes of said at least a collection belt (3), allowing the coupling on said at least a collection belt (3) of a single layer of said leaves and other products (4) due to their passage close to said at least a collection belt (3).
Abstract:
The present invention provides a device and method for singulating from a holder with liquid and/or individualizing of products, such as fruits, wherein the device comprises: a discharge conveyor extending above the liquid level in the holder for discharging the products in rows; and a feed conveyor of V-shaped cross-section, the discharge end of which connects onto a front end of the discharge conveyor and which extends at an inclination from this front end to below the liquid level in the liquid holder.
Abstract:
An apparatus for sorting pouched articles has a plurality of inclined conveyors arranged sequentially for each conveyor in turn to transport the articles up a respective incline and drop each article onto an adjacent conveyor. Each conveyor has an incline and a coefficient of friction sufficient to cause overlying articles to slide back down relative to underlying articles as the underlying articles are pulled up the incline by the conveyor. Each conveyor is independently actuatable. A respective article detector detects presence or non-presence of an article on each conveyor. Each conveyor is stopped until at least an adjacent conveyor ahead thereof is clear of any articles.
Abstract:
A multi-row type internal quality inspection device is arranged to adjust spacing intervals between the columns of receiving trays arranged in rows on a conveyer to the column spacing intervals of a supply conveyor at the start part on the entrance side of a transport path; to have the spacing intervals between the receiving trays become wider at an inspection area provided at an intermediate part of the transport path to allow light projecting means and light receiving means to be arranged there in the lateral direction with respect to inspection objects on the receiving trays for adequate inspection of internal quality of the objects through transmission light obtained through them; and, at the end point on the exit side of the transport path, to have the spacing intervals narrowed and adjusted to the column spacing internals of a conveyor of a next process of sorting on the exit side of the transport path. The receiving trays are arranged to be laterally movable on mounting bars which are mounted on conveyor chains in parallel and spaced at a predetermined distance. Guide pins protruding downward from the receiving trays and guide rails disposed below the path of the receiving trays are arranged to gradually widen and narrow the column spacing intervals between the objects. At the inspection area, therefore, the internal quality of the objects can be adequately inspected by light projecting means and light receiving means.
