    Abstract: A display device includes a display area including a plurality of pixels, and a gradation control circuit configured to control a gradation of the pixel based on a gradation control mode. Each of the plurality of pixels includes first and second LED chips. One frame period of the gradation control mode includes a first to third subframe periods. In the first subframe period, the gradation of the pixel is controlled by a light emitting area of each of the first and second LED chips. In the second subframe period, the gradation of the pixel is controlled by a light emission time of each of the first and second LED chips. In the third subframe period, the gradation of the pixel is controlled by a current value supplied to each of the first and second LED chips.

    Abstract: Provided is an organic EL display device and a method for manufacturing the same having the characteristics that are less deteriorated even if some layers are exposed to a solvent or the atmosphere when performing photolithography. An organic electroluminescence display device includes a plurality of pixel each including a plurality of sub-pixels, a substrate, a lower electrode, an organic EL layer including an emission layer that emits a different color for each sub-pixel, and an upper electrode disposed on an upper side of the organic EL layer. An exposure protective layer is disposed between the organic EL layer and the upper electrode, where the exposure protective layer includes a protective charge generation layer and a first protective hole transport layer that are laminated in this order for each sub-pixel, and the emission layer is not provided between the exposure protective layer and the upper electrode.
