    摘要: A desalination brine dispersal apparatus and method employ airlift to remove, oxygenate and disperse brine from a desalination apparatus. The apparatus includes a brine removal conduit having a brine inlet that receives brine from the desalination apparatus, a plurality of brine outlets submerged in seawater and one or more air introduction points located at depths below the brine outlets. The supplied air oxygenates and moves brine through the brine removal conduit and outlets via airlift and disperses the brine into seawater away from the brine removal conduit. The apparatus avoids the formation of concentrated, high shear brine plumes and can disperse brine into seawater over a wide area well away from the brine removal conduit.

    摘要: Embodiments relate to expandable tissue cavity markers and corresponding systems and deployment methods. In one embodiment, an expandable tissue cavity marker comprises a pouch and at least one radiopaque marker element. The pouch can transition between a compressed state, in which a profile or dimension of the tissue cavity marker is reduced such that the tissue cavity marker can be deployed through a minimally invasive surgical procedure incision, and an expanded state, in which a profile or dimension of the tissue cavity marker is increased such that the tissue cavity marker fills or defines a volume of a tissue cavity. In one embodiment, the pouch can be transformed between the compressed state and the expanded state by delivery of a fill material into the pouch. The pouch can comprise one or more functional materials in embodiments, including materials that provide an anti-infection, hemostasis, anti-migration, medicinal, or other function to the tissue cavity marker.

    摘要: If a cellular base station detects that it is about to shut down, either because no mobile terminals are within range, or because of a loss of power, for example because a user has deliberately switched it off, it first broadcasts a report that is about to shut down. This broadcast signal is picked up by the neighboring cells and used to update their neighbor lists, thus avoiding a false alarm which would otherwise be generated by the neighbors and transmitted to a centralized Operation Administration and Maintenance system when the shut-down cell fails to be detected on the next sampling cycle. The neighbors can then retain the shut-down base station in the neighbor list. The cause of the shut-down may be identified in the shut-down report, and a self-organizing frequency reuse plan adjusted if the base station is shut down altogether (for example because of a loss of power) but remain unchanged if the base station is continuing to operate in receive-only mode because no mobile terminals are within its range. The base station has a standby battery which allows a “graceful” shutdown even if the main power supply is cut off.

    摘要: An apparatus for rotary dumping of rail cars, including a material receiving pit. A rotary rail car dumper includes a rotational frame supporting at least one baffle. The rotational frame is configured to dump a load from a rail car during rotational motion of the rotational frame between an upright position wherein the entire load is in the rail car and a dumping position wherein the load can exit the rail car. A backside airflow diverter is located beneath the rotational frame and includes a curved upper surface. A lower margin of the at least one baffle contacts the curved upper surface during at least part of the rotational motion of the rotational frame.

The guide fleet assembly can be arranged proximate the head block such that an array of lift lines can be routed through the plurality of sheaves of the head block into the guide fleet assembly. The guide fleet assembly further includes a plurality of guide sheaves and a plurality of plates. The plurality of plates is configured to house the plurality of guide sheaves. The plurality of guide sheaves is positioned substantially orthogonal to the head block. The plurality of plates is further arranged such that the plurality of guide sheaves is arranged on more than one plane. The plurality of guide sheaves is configured to reduce the spacing of the lift lines.
