    Abstract: A method for producing an electrical power device from subsequently manufactured parts by an additive manufacturing technique includes determining a target spatial distribution of a physical property of the electrical power device, the physical property being an electrical property and/or a mechanical property; forming a part of the electrical power device; selecting a physical property of a subsequent part of the electrical power device corresponding to the determined spatial distribution of the physical property such as to be different from a corresponding physical property of the part; and by means of the additive manufacturing technique, forming the subsequent part such that it is at least partially in contact with the part.
    An electrical power device is obtainable by the method, and the electrical power device may be used as an AC or DC insulator in an HVAC or HVDC apparatus.

    Abstract: A monitoring arrangement for monitoring a surge arrester which is connected to a live wire of a power network at a connection point in order to protect an electrical apparatus against incoming surges, the monitoring arrangement including: an analogue measuring circuit for sensing a current impulse through the surge arrester caused by an incoming surge in the live wire and producing a corresponding analogue measuring signal; an analog-to-digital converter for converting the measuring signal into digital signals; and an electronic processing device configured: to establish, based on the digital signals, a voltage peak value representing the highest voltage at the connection point during the incoming surge; and to establish, based on the voltage peak value and by means of a calculation model or look-up table, a maximum-voltage value representing an estimated maximum voltage across the electrical apparatus during the incoming surge.

    Abstract: Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are provided for providing recommendations to address design flaws of power system equipment and/or model design flaws for equipment model types of power system equipment. For example, historical sensor data and/or historical field test data, collected from power system equipment, may be analyzed to identify a design flaw of the power system equipment (e.g., a design flaw of a seal ring). A redesign cost to redesign the power system equipment, a failure impact of a failure from the design flaw, a maintenance repair and/or replacement cost, a manufacture alternative component cost to use an alternative component for manufacturing the power system equipment, and/or other factors may be taken into account to crate and provide a recommendation to address the design flaw.
