    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that can include a doorbell device receiving a request signal to enter a region associated with the doorbell device from a remote control device and, responsive thereto, accessing a list identifying which of a plurality of authorized users are located within the region, identifying one of the plurality of authorized users associated with the remote control device, determining whether the list indicates that the one of the plurality of authorized users is located within the region, and determining whether to transmit a disarm command signal to a control panel device or an activation signal to an access control device based on whether the list indicates that the one of the plurality of authorized users is located within the region, wherein entries on the list can correspond to historical use of the doorbell device or the control panel device to enter and exit the region.

    Abstract: A retrofit damper system is configured for installation in existing ductwork including a duct supplying conditioned air through a register boot to a register vent. The retrofit damper system includes a damper assembly including a damper blade and a damper motor configured to drive the damper blade between a closed end position and an open end position. A control module includes a control module housing and a controller within the control module housing that is configured to regulate operation of the damper motor. The controller outputs a drive signal that causes the electric damper motor to drive the damper blade to the desired position and creates a plurality of interruptions in the drive signal while driving the damper blade. A sense circuit senses back EMF signal, and the controller estimates a blade position based at least in part on the back EMF signals.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for training a control panel to recognize user defined and preprogrammed sound patterns are provided. Such systems and methods can include the control panel operating in a learning mode, receiving initial ambient audio from a region, and saving the initial ambient audio as an audio pattern in a memory device of the control panel. Such systems and methods can also include the control panel operating in an active mode, receiving subsequent ambient audio from the region, using an audio classification model to make an initial determination as to whether the subsequent ambient audio matches or is otherwise consistent with the audio pattern, determining whether the initial determination is correct, and when the control panel determines that the initial determination is incorrect, modifying or updating the audio classification model for improving the accuracy in detecting future consistency with the audio pattern.
