Abstract: A heat exchanger assembly and an air conditioning system having the heat exchanger assembly. The heat exchanger assembly includes: a first heat exchanger portion and a second heat exchanger portion; and a control valve, the control valve having an open position and a closed position, at the open position, the first heat exchanger portion being in fluid communication with the second heat exchanger portion by means of the control valve, and at the closed position, the first heat exchanger portion being in fluid isolation with the second heat exchanger portion by means of the control valve. By using the heat exchanger assembly of the present disclosure, performance of the air conditioning system can be improved.

Abstract: A heat pump apparatus is provided and includes an outdoor unit, an indoor unit in communication with the outdoor unit, and a control unit in communication with the outdoor unit and the indoor unit. The indoor unit includes a heat exchange housing for heating inlet air, a plurality of temperature sensors to detect and measure temperature of the inlet air and heated air at various positions in the indoor unit, and a control unit to control heat pump operations. The heat exchange housing includes a heat exchanger, a blower, and a heater unit. The control unit includes a processor and a memory, and is configured to perform operations to control a heating operation of the heat pump apparatus based on a calculated temperature of the heated air passing the heat exchanger.

Abstract: A facility for performing setpoint adjustment-based duty cycling techniques by adjusting the setpoint of a device or component is described. The facility reduces energy consumption for a system, such as an HVAC system, or device by adjusting or modulating an associated setpoint or temperature setting. The facility modulates the setpoint between a base setpoint value and another setpoint value based on a mode of the system. When the system is in a cooling mode, the facility modulates the temperature between the base setpoint value and a higher setpoint value. When the system is in heating mode, the facility modulates the temperature between the base setpoint value and a lower setpoint value. The facility may modulate the setpoint between the two setpoint values based on an offset value or a fixed setpoint value.

Abstract: A self-cleaning control method for an air conditioner and a device and a computer readable storage medium associated with the method are provided. According to the method, in response to the air conditioner entering a self-cleaning mode, the air conditioner is controlled to perform a cooling operation. During the cooling operation, a high-pressure-side pressure of an exhaust port of a compressor is acquired and a duration of the cooling operation is recorded. Based on the high-pressure-side pressure and the duration, the air conditioner is controlled to switch to perform a heating operation. During the heating operation, a temperature at a bottom of an outdoor heat exchanger is acquired and a duration of the heating operation is recorded. Based on the temperature and the duration, the air conditioner is controlled to exit the self-cleaning mode.

Abstract: A system and method for cooling a building using cool fresh outside air is disclosed. When the integrated thermostat is operating during a heating period, the integrated thermostat operates a remote air conditioning unit, such as a furnace, an HVAC unit, an electric baseboard heater, or a heat pump, to heat air provided to the building interior. When the integrated thermostat is operating during a cooling period or a fresh air cooling period, the integrated thermostat compares the indoor air temperature with the temperature of the outdoor fresh air. The integrated thermostat operates a remote fan, such as a whole-house exhaust fan, to draw the cooler fresh air into the building interior in response to the outdoor air temperature being less than the indoor air temperature and/or in response to the indoor temperature being greater than a fresh air cooling set point stored in the memory.

Abstract: A network of wireless remote climate sensors in a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system permits the creation of personalized microclimates within an enclosed space. In addition to collecting temperature and humidity data, the wireless remote climate sensors can detect whether the enclosed space is occupied by a human. Human detection is made possible by optional cameras, microphones, and gas sensors on the wireless remote climate sensors. As the human moves throughout the enclosed space, the HVAC system is able to track the human's movement using the wireless remote climate sensors. The HVAC system may adjust airflow to different portions of the enclosed space based on the human's location. The result is an efficient use of system resources to keep users at their ideal temperature.
