    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system for monitoring rocks in a field. The system includes at least one row unit having an opening disk, a gauge wheel, and a gauge wheel load sensor. The system further includes a processor and a storage media. In various implementations, the system evaluates gauge wheel load sensor data, vertical acceleration data, and/or down force bore pressure data to detect when a row unit strikes a rock. In some implementations, the system can detect the size of the rock, the location of the rock within the soil, and the severity of a rock strike.

    Abstract: The disclosed apparatus, systems and methods relate to devices, systems and methods for the selective application of down pressure or downforce to a row unit. Each row unit has a dual-action actuator which is in fluidic communication with the hydraulic system for independent control of the supplemental downforce. The pressure line can be directly routed to the lift chamber for a constant supply of up pressure, with down pressure selectively applied to the down chamber for accurate control of the supplemental downforce system.

    Abstract: The disclosed apparatus, systems and methods relate to determining cross track error between a stored planted location and the actual physical location of plants. An array of active light sensors is mounted on a vehicle for travel above the plants. The array of active light sensors generate an electrical signal from each sensor corresponding to the reflected light from the sensor. A computer system generates a reflectance curve from the array of sensors to determine the location of a plant below the array of sensors and also generates the cross track error.
