Abstract:
An optical fiber connector includes a first protecting body and a second protecting body detachably assembled to the first protecting body. The first protecting body includes a first base plate and a first housing extending out from the first base plate. The first base plate defines a first receiving hole to communicate with the first housing. The second protecting body includes a second base plate and a second housing extending out from the second base plate. The second base plate defines a second receiving hole to communicate with the second housing. The second housing and the first housing together define an accommodating space therebetween.
Abstract:
The invention is concerned with the strains of B. coagulans for lactic acid production and the related methods, in which the carbon sources are pentose or hexose or the agricultural or industrial wastes containing pentose or hexose or a mixture of both. According to the invention, the highest amount of L-lactic acid produced from glucose is 173 g/L, the optical purity is over 99%, the yield is up to 0.98, and the productivity is up to 2.4 g/L per hour. The highest amount of L-lactic acid produced from xylose is 195 g/L, the optical purity is over 99%, the yield is up to 0.98, and the productivity is up to 2.7 g/L per hour. The highest amount of L-lactic acid produced from reducing sugars in xylitol byproducts is 106 g/L, the optical purity is over 99%, and the productivity is up to 2.08 g/L per hour. The B. coagulans strains XZL4 (DSM No. 23183) and XZL9 (DSM No. 23184) of the invention can directly utilize various reducing sugars in xylitol byproducts to produce high amounts of L-lactic acid, which improves the production efficiency at low costs, and the strains are, thus, appropriate for industrial productions.
Abstract:
Provided are coated oil and gas well production devices and methods of making and using such coated devices. In one form, the coated device includes one or more cylindrical bodies, hardbanding on at least a portion of the exposed outer surface, exposed inner surface, or a combination of both exposed outer or inner surface of the one or more cylindrical bodies, and a coating on at least a portion of the inner surface, the outer surface, or a combination thereof of the one or more cylindrical bodies. The coating includes one or more ultra-low friction layers, and one or more buttering layers interposed between the hardbanding and the ultra-low friction coating. The coated oil and gas well production devices may provide for reduced friction, wear, erosion, corrosion, and deposits for well construction, completion and production of oil and gas.
Abstract:
A method is provided to test working condition of LED indicators on hard disk drives connected to a computer. The method calls an API function from an operating system of the computer to create a main thread, and creates a sub thread for each of the hard disk drives connected to the computer using the main thread. The method further activates an LED indicator on each of the hard disk drives by interchanging data between the hard disk drive and the computer according to the sub thread. In addition, the method determines whether the LED indicator is workable by checking a working state of the LED indicator on each of the hard disk drive drives, and generates a working condition report for the LED indicator on each of the hard disk drives by integrating the determination results.
Abstract:
A method for testing a connection between an audio receiving device and a motherboard is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: preparing a data storage medium containing an original audio data file; playing the data storage medium on an audio playing device with audio signals generated thereof, the audio playing device being connected to the audio receiving device; receiving the audio signals by the audio receiving device; transmitting the audio signals to the motherboard via the connection between the audio receiving device and the motherboard; outputting the audio signals from an output port; receiving the audio signals by an input port; recording the audio signals as a recorded audio data file; comparing the two audio data file; and reporting a test result indicating that the connection is in good condition if the two audio data files are identical.
