    Abstract: The present document relates to radio transmission. In particular, the present document relates to the single-slot dual transfer mode (DTM) available e.g. in GSM/GPRS/GERAN networks. A transmitter is described. The transmitter is configured to send circuit switched data over a traffic channel to a corresponding receiver, wherein the traffic channel is segmented into a plurality of frames. The transmitter if further configured to determine a vacant frame of the plurality of frames, wherein no circuit switched data is sent in the vacant frame due to discontinuous transmission; and to send packet switched data over the traffic channel using the vacant frame.

    Abstract: Example methods and apparatus to transmit uplink allocation indicators in wireless communications are disclosed. A disclosed example method involves sending a first assignment message indicative of first radio block periods assigned to the mobile station for downlink communications. At least one of the first assigned radio block periods is separated from a next occurring one of the first assigned radio block periods by at least a first non-assigned radio block period. In addition, the example method involves sending a second assignment message indicative of second radio block periods assigned to the mobile station for uplink communications.     Abstract: A method and system for a wireless device configured to communicate with a network is presented. The network is communicated with at a radio link control layer. An indication is communicated to the network that a higher layer protocol is operating in an acknowledged mode. The higher level protocol is above the radio link control layer.     Abstract: An access procedure for call re-establishment is provided. In a first method, a mobile station, in at least some instances of detecting radio link failure, attempts call re-establishment on multiple cells concurrently. In a second method, a mobile station performs a first random access channel procedure when the mobile station is not aware of at least two cells with enabled call re-establishment, and performs a second random access channel procedure when the mobile station is aware of at least two cells with enabled call re-establishment.
