Abstract:
A process for forming an absorbent sanitary article of the type including a pad having a direction of main extension, including a step of at least one absorbent core of the absorbent article by layering a corresponding composite web, a step of preparing a succession of hollows in the composite web obtained by removing for each hollow a corresponding portion of the composite web and a step of applying the portions removed on the composite web.
Abstract:
A pocket, to form particulate material as absorbent for hygienic products, includes: a substrate shaped to the absorbent padding; a grid-shaped support, couplable to support the substrate during suction of the particulate material through the substrate and includes a curved external face, an internal face, a pair of greater side faces and a pair of lesser side faces that are opposite one another, openings enable gas to flow from the external face to the internal face during suction. A method for making the pocket includes making at least one of the external openings of a different shape and/or dimension from one of the internal openings, and making the external walls and the internal walls by layer additive manufacturing.
Abstract:
A crushing mill for crushing fibrous material for a unit for forming absorbent cores in a machine which makes absorbent sanitary articles, including a casing having an infeed opening and an outfeed opening for the fibrous material, a rotor rotatable about its axis of rotation and housed in the casing at an intermediate position between the infeed opening and the outfeed opening. Also provided is an auxiliary opening operatively interposed between the infeed opening and the outfeed opening, with reference to a direction of rotation of the rotor, and adapted to allow feeding a particulate absorbent material into an intermediate zone between the infeed opening and the outfeed opening.
Abstract:
An apparatus for distributing particulate material on a conveyor movable along a respective operating direction includes: a tank containing particulate material and equipped with feed means for feeding the particulate material; and distribution means located downstream of the tank to receive the particulate material and the particulate material on the conveyor. The distribution means include a diffuser element and a vibrating device to shake the diffuser element. The diffuser element extends with its sliding plane along its axis between an infeed portion to receive a preset flow quantity “Q” of particulate material, and an outfeed portion. The diffuser element includes a transversal partition at a predetermined distance from the sliding plane to form a neck which acts in combination with a vibration imparted by the vibrating device to distribute the particulate material along a predetermined width of the outfeed portion.
Abstract:
A unit for making absorbent pads for nappies including a forming drum by which the absorbent pad is formed and in turn including on its peripheral surface one or more suction recesses; at least one hood for feeding the absorbent material and peripherally facing at least part of the peripheral surface of the drum; and a duct which leads to the hood and which can intermittently feed predetermined charges of a superabsorbent material; the feeding duct is configured in such a way that the flow of superabsorbent material fed into the hood expands until reaching an extent corresponding to the longitudinal extension of the at least one discrete layer of the absorbent pad.
Abstract:
A method for making an absorbent sanitary article (10) comprises: applying a plurality of adhesive portions (16, 17) on a backsheet web (114), each adhesive portion (16, 17) comprising a removable covering sheet (4) and a glue layer (5) overlaid on said covering sheet (4); subsequently, forming a multilayer web (30) of absorbent sanitary article (10) comprising said backsheet web (114), a topsheet web (112), a plurality of absorbent cores (18) interposed between said topsheet web (112) and said backsheet web (114), and said plurality of adhesive portions (16, 17) applied to said backsheet web (114), wherein said adhesive portions (16, 17) are arranged on said backsheet web (114) on opposite sides with respect to said plurality of absorbent cores (18).
Abstract:
A splicing device includes a head portion provided with a first slot, configured for the passage of a first material, and with a second slot, configured for the passage of a second material; the splicing device includes a first retaining member for holding an edge of the first material, and a second retaining member for holding an edge of the second material, each having a respective retaining surface, configured to vary its orientation from a first configuration in which it is oriented towards the head portion of the splicing device to receive a respective edge, to a second configuration in which the retaining surface is oriented in such a way as to position the respective edge of one of the two between the first material and the second material so it confronts the other, and vice versa.
Abstract:
A folding apparatus for a continuous web for production of absorbent hygiene articles and intended to be folded into a “V” or “U” shape in first and second longitudinal portions along a folding line parallel to a feeding line. A folding section includes a contact unit extending along the feeding line and defining the folding line. First and second guides are positioned on opposite sides of the contact unit and respectively have first and second sliding surfaces. The first and second sliding surfaces extend in a helical fashion along the feeding line, each having a respective infeed section, where the web is not folded, and a respective outfeed section, positioned downstream of the respective infeed section according to a web feeding direction, where the web is folded in two and has the first portion and the second portion set at an angle to each other.
Abstract:
A method for making absorbent sanitary articles, each comprising a first discrete element and a second discrete element, comprises: feeding a succession of first discrete elements along a first feed path; feeding a succession of second discrete elements along a second feed path; applying each first discrete element of the succession of first discrete elements on a support web having a longitudinal axis and movable in a feed direction along a third feed path, the first discrete elements being applied on the support web at a first applicator station; applying each second discrete element of the succession of second discrete elements on the support web at a second applicator station located downstream of the first applicator station in the feed direction of the support web; the method comprises adjusting a length of the third feed path between the first applicator station and the second applicator station, so that each second discrete element is applied on the support web at a predefined position relative to a respective first discrete element.
Abstract:
A method for processing a discrete segment of material for absorbent articles comprises picking up the segment from a first succession of segments disposed at a first spacing from each other; releasing the segment to define a second succession of segments disposed at a second spacing from each other; rotating the segment carried out between the step of picking up and the step of releasing and which involves disposing the segment from a first configuration, corresponding to the configuration of the segment of the first succession, to a second configuration, rotated relative to the first configuration and corresponding to the configuration of the segment of the second succession; between the step of picking up and the step of releasing, accelerating the segment and decelerating the segment; the rotating the segment being carried out simultaneously with at least one between the accelerating and the decelerating.
