Abstract: A dental treatment apparatus includes: a handpiece including a head that holds a cutting tool; a drive unit capable of performing forward rotation driving for rotating the cutting tool held at the head in a cutting direction, and reverse rotation driving for rotating the cutting tool held at the head in a non-cutting direction; an operation receiving unit that receives an operation of an operator; and a controller that controls the drive unit that drives the cutting tool, according to the operation received by the operation receiving unit. Only when a prescribed condition is satisfied, the controller sets the operation received by the operation receiving unit as an operation to drive the cutting tool by reverse rotation driving, or as an operation to drive the cutting tool by twist driving by which the forward rotation driving and the reverse rotation driving are alternately performed.

Abstract: A dental treatment apparatus according to the present invention includes a drive unit that includes a micromotor, a motor driver, and the like, a controller, and a root canal length measurement circuit. The controller controls the cutting tool to be held at a head forward driven in a direction of cutting of an object to be cut. The controller also controls the cutting tool to be reverse driven in a direction reverse to forward rotation drive when the cutting tool is forward driven and the root canal length measurement circuit detects a tip end of the cutting tool reaching a reference position. The controller further carries out a fail-safe control when the cutting tool is reverse driven and the root canal length measurement circuit detects movement of the tip end of the cutting tool toward a root apex position.

Abstract: A three-dimensional scanner for obtaining shape information of an object body includes a light source unit, a varifocal unit, a reference unit, a light path length adjustment unit, an optical sensor, and a control unit. The varifocal unit is able to change a focal position, and both of light from the light source unit to the optical sensor via an object body and light from the light source unit to the optical sensor via the reference unit travel at least once. The control unit determines a condition of varifocal unit based on light has been reflected on reference unit and detected by a part of optical sensor, and calculates the shape information of the object body from light detected by the optical sensor using information of the condition of the varifocal unit that has been determined.
