Abstract:
A method for performing business control task notification is proposed. The method comprises processing a combination of one or more databases and one or more user profiles to generate a schedule template and receive a request for a schedule. A computer program product compares attributes of the request for the schedule to a user profile and a schedule template to identify one or more events of the schedule template to be accessed from one or more of a plurality of distributed databases and forms a query to be sent to the one or more distributed databases. The query is sent to a particular database among the plurality of distributed databases. The computer program product receives a positive response to the query, indicating that the particular database contains a first event for the schedule, and the event. In response to receiving the event, the schedule is created. The schedule is stored. One or more current events in the schedule requiring a notification are identified, and the notification is sent to a destination.
Abstract:
A system and method for controlling access to an ACL list protected database. Each of one or more access control documents includes a start time or an end time, and a start access control list or an end access control list. An access control agent permits access to the database after the start time by reference to the start access control list and after the end time by reference to the end access control list.
Abstract:
A method and computer system for generating and maintaining database instances. A template manager creates the template for generating the instances based on design information, stores the template in a template manager database, generates N instances (N≧2) based on the template and on control information for the N instances, stores the N instances in the template manager database, and transmits the N instances to corresponding N locations. The control information includes access control information and configuration control information that includes identification of N locations corresponding to the N instances. The template manager refreshes the template based on update design information, refreshes the N instances based on the refreshed template, and transmits the N refreshed instances to the corresponding N locations. The template manager may refresh M of the N instances (M≦N), based on update control information, and transmit the M refreshed instances to the corresponding M locations.
Abstract:
A method, system and program product for performing one or more actions in response to a change made to a key data field in a project management application for managing a project. The method includes establishing one or more metrics to be monitored for a project, defining one or more actions for at least one key data field of a plurality of key data fields in the project management application, the one or more actions being defined in accordance with a level of control to be exercised and being triggered by one or more pre-specified conditions associated with the one or more metrics monitored for the project. The method further includes automatically performing at least one action of the one or more actions in response to a relative impact to the project caused by a change made to the at least one key data field.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present invention provide a solution for reducing cycle time of automatically created spreadsheets. Specifically, an embodiment of the present invention provides a way to create a spreadsheet from data that is in a native format more quickly and/or efficiently. To do so, the invention accesses a control file using optimized settings to create the spreadsheet. Then, after creation of the spreadsheet, the invention uses a second control file having the final settings to modify the spreadsheet in preparation for output. The invention may use agents to perform all or a portion of these activities.
Abstract:
Under the present invention, index keys are generated for a set of documents. This is typically accomplished by examining the set of documents, and connecting data values extracted from the set of documents to yield the index keys. Once the index keys are generated, an index view will be generated into which the index keys are populated. Using the index keys in the index view, an agent will automatically obtain the set of documents (i.e., in the background). Then, when a user requests one of the documents, the document will already have been retrieved from storage. As such, it can readily be provided to the user. It should be understood that as used herein, the term “document” is intended to refer to any type of electronically stored data.
Abstract:
A system and method for determining earned values (EVs) of progress of a project. At least one EV calculation rule is defined for calculating EVs in terms of components to be combined into the EVs, locations in which the components are located, and formulae required to combine the components. The defined at least one EV calculation rule is used to calculate the Evs. The at least one EV calculation rule, which includes the components, the locations, and the formulae, is stored. Defining the at least one EV calculation rule includes: identifying the components used to calculate the Evs; identifying the locations in which the components are located; and identifying the formulae specifying how the components are combined to create the EVs.
Abstract:
A method and system for uniformly displaying and reporting uniform project completion information, such as uniform earned value measurements (EV), of a large-scale project having a number of individual subprojects. A set of EV Calculation Rules are defined and used as a guide in creating the uniform EVs. The uniform EVs are calculated, then reported. The EV Calculation Rules used to calculate the uniform EVs include an identification of components of the databases required, the locations of these components and the mathematical formulae used to combine these components. On-demand, scheduled and/or event agents implement the rules to create the EV reports.
Abstract:
A system, method and program product for decommissioning database instances. A computer system is disclosed that includes an agent processing system that deactivates agents associated with a database instance; an access processing system that restricts further access to the database instance; and a mailer processing system that deactivates mailing transactions associated with the database instance.
Abstract:
A system for managing temporary processing agents. A first code routine is provided as an empty routine in an agent including first executable code, the empty routine consisting of non-executable code. A programming component selectively loads second executable code to the first routine for converting the empty routine to a populated routine. A code element issues a call to the first routine. An agent execution component is responsive to the first routine being a populated routine for executing the second executable code.
