Abstract:
An optical imaging system having an optical source located between the object being imaged and the sensor is provided. Such positioning of the source enables provision of compact optical imaging systems. In particular, such systems can have image widths significantly larger than the object to sensor separation. The arrangement of source, imaging assembly and sensor is such that an image of the source is not formed at the sensor. Therefore, the effect of this source positioning on the image of the object at the sensor is a reduction of intensity, as opposed to more objectionable imaging artifacts, such as spurious shadows and/or bright spots. Thus compact optical imaging systems having good image quality are provided, which enables high-fidelity imaging of object to sensor for a wide variety of applications.

A mobile bearing knee prosthesis apparatus includes a tibial plate. The tibial plate includes a medial lobe and a lateral lobe conjoined in a dividing plane. The apparatus further includes a tibio-femoral insert and a stud-like protuberance extending from the tibial plate into the tibio-femoral insert. The stud-like protuberance includes a protuberance sidewall positioned in the tibio-femoral insert. The protuberance sidewall is bisected by the dividing plane and includes a pair of opposing eccentric convex arcuate portions, and the tibio-femoral insert is moveable relative to the tibial plate about an axis medially disposed from the dividing plane. A mobile bearing knee prosthesis apparatus includes a tibial plate and a tibio-femoral insert coupled to the tibial plate. The tibio-femoral insert includes a generally posteriorly positioned chamfered superior surface and defines a generally posteriorly positioned generally U-shaped space bounded at least in part by the chamfered surface.

A painted steel article having a steel surface, being plated with a corrosion-resistant coating. The corrosion-resistant coating contains at least 90% zinc, cobalt, at least one trivalent or higher-valent metal, and at least one colloidal inorganic material. The paint is then electrodeposited directly on the corrosion-resistant coating.

The remote unit (113) maintains a count of inserted blank scan lines generated by the remote unit (113) and uses this to maintain a fixed number of scan lines per page during facsimile transmission. More particularly, in the preferred embodiment of the present invention the remote unit (113) maintains a fixed number of lines per page by deleting scan lines comprising a predetermined set of characters from the actual facsimile transmitted, until the number of scan lines deleted from the facsimile is equal to the number of blank scan lines generated by the remote unit (113).

A modular display having upper and lower modules connected to one another. Each module has an upstanding wall and is of L-shaped cross section. The upstanding wall of each lower module is secured to the protruding wall of the upper module below the upper edge of the wall. The upstanding walls are thus, in use, spaced from one another to define an open ended receptacle. The lower end of an upper module and an upper part of lower module have mutually engageable connector parts for connecting the modules together.

A knife assembly for mounting in a combine header for cooperation with the radial feed fingers of the central drum portion of a rotary auger in which a plurality of transversely spaced knife bars fixed to a knife frame are pivotally supported upon a mounting frame fixed in relation to the feed opening of the combine header, so that the cutting edges of the knife bars are closely spaced to the central drum portion of the auger and interdigitate with the radial feed fingers of the auger drum portion, in order to cut exceptionally long vegetation, such as stalks or vines, carried by the auger before such vegetation reaches the feed opening to the combine.The knife assembly further includes adjustable stop means for accurately locating the cutting edges of the knife bars close to the central drum portion of the auger, and a locking means for locking the knife bars in an elevated inoperative position to permit cleaning out the cut vegetation in the central drum portion of the auger.
