摘要: Described herein is a method of depositing a conformal, optically transparent coating onto a surface of one or more internal components that are enclosed within an assembled device including an optical encoder using a non-line-of-sight deposition process without altering a structure of the assembled device or impacting functionality of the assembled device. Also described is an assembled device including an optical encoder, where one or more internal components enclosed within the optical encoder and a coating deposited onto a surface of the internal components, where the coating is a conformal, optically transparent coating that is resistant to corrosion by at least one of fluorine-, chlorine-, sulfur-, hydrogen-, bromine-, or nitrogen-based acids and that does not negatively impact functionality of the internal components.

One example of a lens incorporating the phase-adjusting element includes the lens having surface with a modulated relief defining a plurality of regions including a first region and a second region, the first region having a depth relative to the second region, and a plurality of nanostructures formed in the first region. The depth of the first region and a spacing between adjacent nanostructures of the plurality of nanostructures is selected to provide a selected average index of refraction of the first region, and the spacing between adjacent nanostructures of the plurality of nanostructures is sufficiently small that the first region does not substantially diffract visible light.

摘要: An optical device for aberration correction (e.g., chromatic aberration correction) is disclosed. The optical device includes an optical component (e.g., a spherical lens) and a metasurface optically coupled to the optical component. The metasurface includes a plurality of nanostructures that define a phase profile. The phase profile corrects an aberration (e.g., chromatic aberration) caused by the optical component. The resulting optical device becomes diffraction-limited (e.g., for the visible spectrum) with the metasurface.

摘要: A novel functional panel that is highly convenient, useful, or reliable is provided. The functional panel includes a base material and a pair of pixels, and the base material covers the pair of pixels and has a light-transmitting property. The pair of pixels includes one pixel and another pixel, and the one pixel includes a light-emitting device and a first microlens. The light-emitting device emits light toward the base material, and the first microlens is interposed between the base material and the light emission and converges light. The first microlens includes a first surface and a second surface; the second surface is closer to the light-emitting device than the first surface is; and the second surface has a smaller radius of curvature than the first surface. The other pixel includes a photoelectric conversion device and a second microlens. The second microlens is interposed between the base material and the photoelectric conversion and converges external light incident from the base material side. The second microlens includes a third surface and a fourth surface; the third surface is closer to the photoelectric conversion device than the fourth surface is; and the fourth surface has a smaller radius of curvature than the third surface.
