Abstract:
A laundry machine is disclosed. The laundry machine includes a drum in which laundry is put, a steam generator to generate steam, a water supply line connected to the steam generator, a steam line connected to the steam generator, and a valve placed in the steam line, wherein the valve is controlled to block the steam line to prevent water from flowing from the steam generator to the drum.
Abstract:
An ice maker and a refrigerator having the same include an ice making container which is maintained at a temperature higher than a freezing point of water. Ace core rods having the temperature lower than the freezing point are inserted into the ice making container to cause water in the container to freeze. Accordingly, water at the periphery of the ice making container remains liquid which the water surrounding the ice core rods freezes. As a result, air bubbles generated when the ice is made can be discharged from the liquid portions of the water at the outer edges of the container. This results in ice without trapped air bubbles, which allows excellent transparent ice pieces to be formed. In some embodiments, the exterior surfaces of the ice making container are maintained at a temperature lower than the freezing point of water, and thawing rods maintained at the temperature higher than the freezing point of water are inserted into the center portions of the ice making container. In this embodiment, water at the edges of the ice making container are frozen first, while the water surrounding the thawing rods remains liquid. This also allows air bubbles to escape during formation of the ice, which results in transparent ice pieces.
Abstract:
An ice maker and a controlling method thereof are provided. The system and method may prevent the overflow or splashing of water or thin ice out of an ice tray during the supply of water or when the ice maker is shaken by an external force. The ice maker may include an ice tray, and an ice tray cover that covers an open portion of the ice tray. The cover may include an opening through which water may be supplied to the ice tray, and through which ice may be discharged from the ice tray. The cover may move together with the tray, or may move separately from the tray, to facilitate these supply and discharge processes.
Abstract:
A dishwasher is provided which can reduce the discharge of noise produced by the dishwasher, thereby preventing a user from being upset due to the noise and achieving not only a comfortable use environment but also an improvement in productivity. With the dishwasher, it is possible to prevent the noise, caused during operation of the dishwasher, from being discharged from a lower side of a door, by use of a sound-insulation member with a simplified configuration. In the manufacture of the dishwasher, improved assembly productivity can be accomplished.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a shelf of a wine refrigerator including a frame disposed inside a chill room in the horizontal direction, a plurality of support wires formed long inside the frame in the forward and backward directions of the frame at predetermined intervals in the right and left directions of the frame, and a plurality of elastic support members inserted onto each support wire, for elastically supporting wine bottles.
Abstract:
A method for controlling the dehydrating operation of a drum type washing machine includes a pre-acceleration step for accelerating a drum to a predetermined control starting speed, and a main accelerating step for accelerating the drum from the control starting speed to a target speed along a linear locus having a preset acceleration slope. A deviation of the center of gravity of the laundry and a pre-spinning time period are reduced in the aforementioned control method.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a dehydration control apparatus and method for a washing machine. The dehydration control apparatus for the washing machine includes: a storing unit for storing reference unbalance quantities according to each load quantity; and a control unit for detecting a load quantity and an unbalance quantity by accelerating or decelerating a motor of the washing machine, comparing a reference unbalance quantity from the stored reference unbalance quantities that correspond to the detected load quantity with the detected unbalance quantity, and determining dehydration completion according to the comparison result.
Abstract:
A direct cooling type refrigerator capable of increasing the heat exchange performance of a refrigerant, thereby rapidly cooling its storage compartment. The refrigerator includes an outer casing defining an appearance of the refrigerator, an inner casing arranged within the outer casing, and defined with a storage compartment, an insulator interposed between the outer casing and the inner casing, a compressor for compressing a refrigerant, and an evaporator arranged to be in contact with the inner casing, and adapted to cool the inner casing in accordance with evaporation of a refrigerant passing therethrough.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multi-functional laundry device capable of treating the laundry efficiently and controlling method for the same, comprising a washing unit for washing the laundry, a drying unit integrated with the washing unit as one body for after-washing treatment including smoothing out wrinkles, and drying and keeping the laundry, and a control unit provided at either of the washing unit and the drying unit for controlling the washing unit and the dry unit. The present invention has the advantageous effect that the treatment of the laundry including washing, drying, smoothing out wrinkles, and keeping the laundry may be performed in one device.
Abstract:
A supporting apparatus of a compressor comprises: a shaft fixed perpendicularly to a base plate; a first sheet member insertedly coupled to the shaft and disposed at an upper surface of the base plate; a second sheet member inserted upon the shaft movably in a vertical direction, to which a mounting bracket connected to a compressor is mounted, a spring disposed between the first sheet member and the second sheet member, for performing a damping operation; and a stopper for preventing excessive shaking of the compressor by restricting a distance in which the second sheet member moves. Accordingly, the supporting apparatus of the compressor can prevent a compressor or pipes connected to the compressor from being damaged due to vibration transmitted from the outside by restricting a displacement that the compressor mounted in a product can move when the product is carried.
