    摘要: In wireless system, a group of Basestations (BTSs) can be managed by a centralized network management identity or can be self-organized by communicating with each other via wireless air-interfaces or wired interfaces. One such example are Femtocell systems. When the BTSs are using the same frequency for transmitting and receiving with relatively large transmitting power and when they are closer to each other, performance of such a system and user throughput or QoS (Quality of Service) gets degraded due to the interference between the BTSs and among the users. Smart antenna technique can be used in a coordinated way among a group of BTSs, such as Femtocells, to avoid or reduce interference or manage how interference happens to achieve performance enhancement such as higher system throughput or better QoS to individual applications.

    摘要: A Hybrid Automatic Retransmission Request (H-ARQ) technique is provided for Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) systems. The technique changes the basis (V) upon retransmission, which helps reduce the error probability upon retransmission. This basis hopping technique provides for improved performance gain without significant increase in design complexity. In one embodiment, communication device (100) includes a receiver section (114) for receiving an acknowledgment (ACK) or a non-acknowledgment (NACK) signal in response to information transmitted by the transmitter section of the communication device. If a NACK is received, a new basis is selected from a set of basis stored in a basis set unit (110). The new basis that is selected is then used by a linear transformation unit (106) in the retransmission of the information.

    摘要: A demodulator such as a Fast Hadamard Transform (FHT) based demodulator is used to demodulate all channels in a code space with code length equal to the data channel code. Since the codes for overhead control channels are usually longer, the control channel data is only partially uncovered. Once the necessary further processing is performed and the information to fully uncover the control channels is available, the control channel data is fully demodulated. By only processing one partially uncovered secondary control channel, the present invention reduces the implementation complexity. A hardware implementation of the above method, requires fewer data processing operations, and reduces data processing delays, resulting in lower power consumption.

    摘要: Self-optimization in heterogeneous networks techniques are provided. In autonomous mode, certain self-optimization criteria are used to set up one or more targets with same or different priorities. The cells in a defined area of a HetNet autonomously adjust certain radio resources (e.g., power, time, frequency, and/or spatial resources (e.g. antenna, location)) in order to achieve or to be close to the targets such that the self-optimization criteria are met. In a coordinated mode, certain self-optimization criteria are used to define one or more cost functions with same or different priorities. The cells or a subset of users in the cells in a defined area of a HetNet search for the optimal solution for the cost functions by coordinating certain radio resources.
