Abstract:
An electronic device includes a personal system 2 (PS/2) port, a route selection unit, and a signal identification unit. The PS/2 port may be electronically connected to a storage device through a universal serial bus (USB) interface. The signal identification unit identifies the storage device and then sends a control command to the route selection unit. The route selection unit distributes a USB data transmission route to the storage device according to the control command, so that the electronic device can exchange data with the storage device.
Abstract:
A portable electronic device includes an audio port, a universal serial bus (USB) circuit, an audio circuit, a detecting unit, a switch, and a microcontroller. The detecting unit is connected to the audio port. The detecting unit generates a detecting signal in response to detection of either the earphone/microphone or the USB apparatus being connected to the audio port. The microcontroller is connected to the detecting unit and the switch. The microcontroller selects the audio circuit or the USB circuit to the audio port by the switch according to the detecting signal.
Abstract:
A card reader includes a printed circuit board (PCB). The PCB includes a universal serial bus (USB) interface to be connected to an electronic device, a card interface to be connected to a card, a control chip, and a normally-closed switch coupled in a wire connecting a positive differential pin of the USB interface to the control chip. A length of the wire connecting the positive differential pin of the USB interface to the control chip equals to a length of a wire connecting a negative differential pin of the USB interface to the control chip. The normally-closed switch is operable to be switched on or switched off, so as to control the connection between the card and the electronic device.
Abstract:
A connector retaining device for retaining interconnection between two connectors a support board and two flexible fastening strips. The support board includes two through holes. The flexible fastening strips respectively extend through the through holes. Each fastening strip includes a loop at one end thereof, the other end of the fastening strip is passable through the loop. The fastening strips are configured for embracingly gripping the cables at opposite sides of the combined connectors and sandwiching the combined connectors therebetween.

Abstract:
A notebook computer includes a main body, a battery, and a power adaptor. The main body defines a mounting slot and includes a connector exposed in the mounting slot. Either the battery or the power adaptor may be mounted in the mounting slot. The battery defines a socket for electrical engagement with the connector of the main body. The power adaptor also defines a socket to engage with the connector, and a power source interface connected to an alternating power source.
Abstract:
A fan is used to be fixed on an enclosure to dissipate heat from the enclosure. The fan includes a body, a magnetic fixing element mounted on the body, a power connector connected to the body; and a universal serial bus (USB) connector connected to the power connector. The body is fixed on the enclosure under magnetic force of the fixing element. The power connector and the USB connector are selectively connected to a motherboard to receive a voltage to power the body of the fan, to dissipate heat from the enclosure after the motherboard is powered on.
Abstract:
A connector retaining device includes a first retaining frame and a similar second retaining frame. The first retaining frame includes two parallel first clamping plates, a first front opening at a front side thereof between the first clamping plates, a first rear plate at a rear side, a first side plate at one lateral side, and a first side opening at another lateral side. The first rear plate defines a first slot exposed at said another lateral side. The first clamping plates are configured for sandwiching a first connector. The first front opening is configured for allowing insertion of a second connector into the first retaining frame to engage with the first connector. The first side opening is configured for allowing insertion of the first connector into the first retaining frame. And the first slot is configured for allowing the first cable to extend and slide therethrough.
Abstract:
An airflow guide cover assembly includes a first airflow guide cover, and a second airflow guide cover. The first airflow guide cover defines a groove in an inner surface around a rear end of the first airflow guide cover, and a number of recesses in a rear end of an outer surface of the first airflow guide cover. A flange extends forwards from a front end of an inner surface of the second airflow guide cover, to engage in the groove of the first airflow guide cover. A number of blocks protrudes forwards from a front end of an outer surface of the second airflow guide cover, to engage in the corresponding recesses of the first airflow guide cover. The airflow guide cover assembly is modular, the airflow guide covers can be assembled to suit any situation where it's required.
Abstract:
A hard disk assembly includes a first and a second hard disk, and a hard disk connecting mechanism for holding the first and the second hard disks. The first and second hard disks both each have a composite receptacle. The hard disk connecting mechanism includes a frame for mounting the first and the second hard disks and a composite connector detachably positioned in the frame. The composite connector includes a base, a first composite plug engaged with the composite receptacle of the first hard disk and a second composite plug engaged with the composite receptacle of the second hard disk.
