Abstract: The method includes forming a filter material sheet, containing the filter material sheet to form a contained filter material, the containing including, folding the filter material sheet to create a plurality of folds along a width of the filter material sheet, gathering the filter material sheet to form the contained filter material, the plurality of folds in the filter material sheet forming interstices running through a longitudinal length of the contained filter material, the interstices being configured to allow an airflow to pass through the longitudinal length of the contained filter material, and infusing the filter material sheet with at least one first consumable substance, the at least one first consumable substance being one of nicotine, at least one first flavorant, a pre-vapor formulation, a combination thereof, or a sub-combination thereof.

Abstract: A method of controlling a hot wire anemometer (HWA) of a non-nicotine e-vaping device includes controlling, by a first PID controller, a level of power applied by the non-nicotine e-vaping device to the HWA based on a temperature of a heated element of the HWA and a temperature setpoint; generating a puff detection signal indicating whether or not a puff is currently occurring with respect to the non-nicotine e-vaping device; and while the puff detection signal indicates that a puff is not currently occurring with respect to the non-nicotine e-vaping device, detecting, by a second PID controller, a change in an ambient temperature of the HWA, and controlling, by the second PID controller, the temperature setpoint such that the temperature setpoint changes in response to the detected change in the ambient temperature of the HWA.

Abstract: A personal carrying case for holding an e-vaping device includes communication interfaces configured to establish communication links with the e-vaping device and a remotely-located computer device. Control circuitry included in the case may control an element of the e-vaping device according to a control command received from the computer device. The control circuitry may control the e-vaping device element via an e-vaping device communication link, and the control circuitry may receive the control command via a computer device communication link. The computer device communication link may be an ad hoc wireless network communication link. The control circuitry may process information received from the e-vaping device to communicate status information and signals to the computer device. Separate e-vaping device elements may be identified and associated with separate accounts, and e-vaping device usage may be tracked in association with said accounts based on the separate identities of elements used during vaping.
