摘要： A system for securing image data of an environment including a camera having a panoramic lens mounted on a cart. In one embodiment, the motor mounted on the cart is battery operated so that the cart is self contained. In one embodiment, the cart is mounted on a pair of caterpillar treads, each tread having its own motor controlled to drive the motor forward, backward or to turn. For inline inspection, such as the inside of a pipe, the camera is mounted on the cart by cantilevered legs that permit adjusting the height of the camera above the surface supporting the cart (the interior surface of the pipe and maintains the axis of the panoramic lens parallel with the pipe. In other versions, the cart is equipped to form images of pipe whose interior surface has been penetrated by phospohescent laced water that weeps from outside the pipe into the pipe interior. In another embodiment, the inside surface of pipe is sprayed with a laccquer containing phosphorescent-ferromagnetic particles that coalesce along the edges of discontinuities in the pipe surface. In yet another embodiment, the cart and camera are encased in a water tight seal and with only the caterpilar treads mounted on wheels protrucint from the housing and the camera is encased in a water tight container. The caterpillar tread is equipped with flippers that lay down when the wheels supporting the tread turn in one direction but which are free to stand up when the tread is movved in the opposite direction. The flippers are lockable in either direction.

摘要： An apparatus for grooving a tube, comprising a stud, a partitioning ring around the central region of the stud, a mandrel, a plurality of concave jaws, an outer tapered sleeve, and a tightening mechanism. The mandrel is placed over far end of the stud, and the tube to be worked is placed on the end of the mandrel. Concave jaws with flanges are fitted into grooves around the mandrel, so that the flanges surround the tube. A tapered sleeve is placed over the near end of the stud, extending at least partially over the jaws. The tightening mechanism is then placed over the near end of the stud. Tightening of the mechanism draws the flanges on the jaws to the tube to be worked.

摘要： A tool for nondestructive interrogation of the tissue including a light source emitter and detector which may be mounted directly on the surgical tool in a tissue contacting surface for interrogation or mounted remotely and guided to the surgical field with fiber optic cables. The light source may be broadband and wavelength differentiation can be accomplished at the detector via filters or gratings, or using time, frequency, or space resolved methods. Alternatively, n discrete monochromatic light sources may be provided which are subsequently multiplexed into a single detector by time or by frequency multiplexing. The optical sensing elements can be built into a surgical tool end effector tip such as a tissue grasping tool which has cooperating jaws (bivalve or multi-element). In the preferred embodiment the light source (or the fiber optic guide) is mounted on one jaw and the detector (or fiber optic guide) is mounted in the opposing jaw so that the light emitter and detector are facing one another either directly (i.e., on the same optical axis when the tool is closed) or acutely (i.e., with intersecting optical axes so that the light emitted is detected). In this case, the sensor is working in a transmission modality. Arrangements with the optical components mounted on the same member of a single member or a multi member structure, operating in a reflective modality, are disclosed.

摘要： A security system for automatically disabling an interruptable circuit vital to the operation of a motor vehicle after an ignition of the vehicle is turned off or disabled. The security system includes a base circuit with a relay for disabling the interruptable circuit after the ignition is disabled. The base circuit includes a logic circuit that detects when the ignition is disabled, and for sending a disable signal to the relay. In one embodiment, the base circuit includes a timer circuit for delaying the disable signal to the relay for a specified time period after the ignition is turned off. The disabled interruptable circuit, and the disabled motor vehicle, may be enabled upon actuation of a remote transmitter, or switch on the base circuit. The base circuit also includes adapters for connecting the base circuit to the interruptable circuit and to a power supply of the motor vehicle at a fuse panel of the motor vehicle. In an alternative embodiment, the interruptable circuit and the power supply are coupled to the base circuit by splicing a wire of the interruptable circuit and the power supply circuit, and coupling the spliced wire, with an another adaptor, to the base circuit. The security system also includes an optional vibration detector for detecting motion of the vehicle and a siren circuit for sounding an audible alarm in response to the detection of vibration by the vibration detector.

摘要： Apparatus and method for removing particulate impurities from liquids wherein the liquid flows upward through a bundle of tubes having a helical shape to present an inclined path where settling of particulates back down the tube occurs. The bundle is preferably formed around a central standpipe. This modular helical tube bundle arrangement provides a compact and inexpensive structure and great convenience for maintenance. The preferred cross sectional shape of each tube is oval to increase settling rate. In order to form the tubes from rigid tubing, a concrete form is made in accordance with a procedure which includes forming a "tent" of strings, sculpting a plasticene negative form using the tent of strings as a guide, casting concrete against the form to produce a mold that resembles a sliding board with an outside drooping edge. In a preferred apparatus the tube bundle is foamed in place within a cylindrical tank and the bundle supports the standpipe, which in turn may carry a motor and propeller assembly for break-up of bubbles forming within the reaction zone portion of the settling tube.
