A test probe adapter for mounting on a bridge clip carrier or the like is presented. The test probe adapter includes an insulative housing having a pair of conductive test posts extended outwardly from the top and bottom of the housing. Attached to the bottom of each test post is a spring-loaded test probe mechanism which terminates at a probe tip. The test adapter further includes opposed biased hinged levers. These levers each terminate at a shoulder which is adapted for grasping and retaining the flattened top portion of a handle on a bridge clip carrier or the like.

A bridge clip carrier comprises a one-piece molded insulative housing having at least two cavities for receiving discrete metal bridge clips which are then snap locked in the cavities. Each cavity has an open ended slot which permits loading of a bridge clip therein and is adpated for receiving a terminal from a terminal block. The cavity further includes stepped-in side portions near the slot which act to narrow the width thereof towards the top of the housing. Each discrete bridge clip is snap locked into a cavity by opposed extensions which mate with pre-existing grooves or windows in the bridge clips. An important feature of the present invention is the presence of apertures on the top face of the housing which expose the bridge clips and which are sized for receiving a suitable test probe. Thus, the bridge clip carrier of the present invention permits ease of testing of the electrical circuits subsequent to installation. A novel test probe specifically configured for use with the bridge clip carrier of the present invention is also presented.

Each exterior retaining member has a female latch for engaging the male latch located on the stand-off legs. The wire manager includes notches formed on each female latch and each exterior retaining member which receive nubs formed on the stand-off legs. Base plates of the wire manager include cross-shaped recesses for receiving cross-shaped projections formed on the stand-off legs. The notches and nubs along with the cross-shaped recesses and cross-shaped projections aid in aligning the wire manager and the stand-off legs.

A lightweight extremely versatile cross-connect frame and associated stand-off brackets are presented. This cross-connect frame comprises few components with integrally designed hole patterns to retain communication connector blocks and other standard products that require the dimensions of an EIA standard relay rack. The enhanced manufacturing and assembly produce clean sturdy frames which can be mounted either directly or with compatible stand-off brackets to a wall or 19" EIA relay rack. Additionally, these frames, with or without stand-off brackets, minimize the mounting space required by being both an even RMS (Rack Mount Space) in length and end stackable.

A shielded connector assembly having a snap locking mounting scheme. The assembly includes a panel yoke (2) with snap locking elements (21) for snap lockingly, removably securing the panel yoke (2) in a panel or cover plate. The panel yoke (2) is also constructed to snap lockingly engage a shielding device (30) which in turn is constructed to snap lockingly engage a connector assembly comprising an interconnecting device (61) which may be a printed circuit board (59) including integrally defined reactive elements designed to compensate for reactive imbalance of electrical components connected thereto. A pair of wire termination blocks (70) mounted to a first side of the circuit board are connected by circuitry on the circuit board to a corresponding modular jack (60) mounted on a second side of the circuit board. The reactive elements produce an impedance between selected leads of the modular jack and the wire termination blocks by the circuitry. A snap locking combination of the shield device (30) and a shielding cover (90) completely shields the connector assembly (61). For joining the assembly parts, the shield includes pawls (32) and engagement members (33) that latch to cutouts (18) in the yoke and to apertures (94) in the shield cover, respectively. The shield device (30) includes a cable shield restraint (36). In one embodiment, a dual opening yoke receives two shielding devices. In another embodiment, a single opening yoke receives one shielding device.
