Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes a first imaging element and a second imaging element. The second imaging element includes a storage portion that stores first image data output from the first imaging element, and a processing portion that processes second image data. A second image indicated by the second image data has a higher resolution than a first image indicated by the first image data. The second imaging element outputs the first image data stored in the storage portion to a specific output destination in a case where a specific subject image is not detected, and outputs the second image data or combined image data obtained by combining the first image data with the second image data using the processing portion to the output destination in a case where the specific subject image is detected.

The processor is configured to output the decided output image data at a second frame rate.
