    摘要: An apparatus for measuring and detecting the pressure in a fluid being injected into a closed system, for instance, fluid being injected into a dilitation catheter, such as a balloon catheter used for the purpose of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty. The apparatus provides a pressure measuring system that includes a housing for releasably and slidably holding the barrel of a syringe used to deliver fluid into the balloon catheter; and a device for measuring and indicating fluid pressure in the syringe barrel, which is also the balloon pressure. The pressure measuring system indirectly measures pressure changes of fluid within the syringe barrel by sensing movement of the barrel as a result of fluid pressure changes. Since a pressure change is sensed by sensing movement of the syringe barrel, the only parts of the system directly contacted by the fluid inflating the balloon are the syringe barrel and syringe plunger. A control device for controlling movement of a piston within the syringe barrel also is provided. The control device makes it possible to slowly or quickly increase or decrease fluid pressure and facilitates maintenance of a desired pressure.

    摘要: A valve system for use in a system including a first source of a first pressurized fluid and a second source of a second pressurized fluid includes a valve housing including a first inlet port adapted to be placed in fluid connection with the first source, a second inlet port adapted to be placed in fluid connection with the second source and an outlet port. The valve system further includes a backflow prevention system to prevent flow of the first pressurized fluid through the second inlet and to prevent flow of the second pressurized fluid through the first inlet port. The valve system is adapted to provide a fluid path between at least the first inlet port and the outlet port to enable fluid to be drawn from the outlet port to the first inlet port. Several of the valve systems of the present invention provide for flow from the first inlet port to the outlet port and concurrent flow from the second inlet port to the outlet port.

    摘要: An injector system includes a syringe and an injector. The syringe includes a body portion and a plunger movably disposed within the body portion. The injector includes a housing defining a front opening therein, a drive member extendible through the front opening of the housing for imparting motive force to the plunger disposed within the syringe, and a pressure jacket assembly associated with the housing for substantially enclosing the syringe during an injection procedure. The pressure jacket assembly includes a jacket cylinder having an open front end for receiving the syringe and a front member associated with the housing. The front member is pivotable between a closed position for retaining the syringe within the jacket cylinder and an open position for allowing the syringe to be inserted into and removed from the front end of the jacket cylinder.

    摘要: An injection apparatus for use with a syringe is provided. The injection apparatus includes an injector and a pressure jacket assembly. The injector preferably includes a housing defining a front opening and a drive piston extendible through the front opening for imparting motive force to a plunger disposed within the syringe. The pressure jacket assembly preferably includes a jacket cylinder having a rear end coupled to the injector housing and an open front end for receiving the syringe therethrough, a support member having a rear end pivotally coupled to the injector housing and a front end, and a front member pivotally coupled to the front end of the support member. Preferably, the front member is pivotable between a closed position for retaining the syringe within the jacket cylinder and an open position for allowing the syringe to be inserted into and removed from the front end of the jacket cylinder.

    摘要: The present invention provides an injection system and a pump system for use therein for pressurizing a liquid medium for injection into a patient. In general, the pump system comprises a pressurizing unit having at least one chamber. Each chamber has disposed therein a pressurizing mechanism to pressurize liquid medium within the chamber. Preferably, the pressurizing mechanism positively displaces the liquid medium through generally linear motion of the pressurizing mechanism within the chamber. Through reciprocating linear motion of the pressurizing mechanism (for example, a piston), the liquid medium is alternatively drawn into the chamber from a source of liquid medium (for example, a container) and forced out of the chamber under a desired pressure. Each chamber comprises an inlet port and an outlet port. The pump system also preferably comprises an inlet port check valve which allows the liquid medium to flow into the chamber through the inlet port, but substantially prevents the liquid medium from flowing out of the chamber through the inlet port. Likewise, the pump system preferably comprises an outlet port check valve which allows pressurized liquid medium to flow out of the chamber through the outlet port, but substantially prevents the liquid medium from flowing into the chamber through the outlet port. Each inlet port is connected to a source of liquid medium. Each outlet port is connected to a common outlet line or channel leading to the patient.
