Abstract:
One embodiment may take the form of an apparatus for providing separate user classifications and interfaces to multiple users of a set-top box of the television system. Each user classification may be configurable to provide different interfaces, menus and available features to the users of the set-top box. Further, each user classification may include several sub-classifications to further personalize the set-top box to the various users of the system. Also, each user classification may also monitor the habits and usage of each class and store such information for use by the set-top box to suggest settings of the set-top box that the user may be interested in, such as a favorite channel list.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus of precise first-path detection in CDMA mobile communications systems, comprising the steps of: a. calculating the noise threshold for the first-path detection according to the multi-path profile; b. judging whether there is a maximum point exceeding the noise threshold in the multi-path profile, if yes, carrying out side-lobe suppression at this maximum point and obtaining the candidate first path; otherwise, setting the flag of no first path existing, and exiting the entire process of first-path detection; c. judging according to the location of the candidate first path whether the first path is ambiguous, if yes, carrying out correction of first-path ambiguity, obtaining the corrected location of final first path, and exiting the entire first-path detection process; otherwise, outputting the location of candidate first path as the location of final first path. The apparatus in accordance with this invention comprises at least a module for noise threshold calculation, a module for side-lobe suppression, and a module for first-path ambiguity detection and correction.
Abstract:
A cable assembly (1) includes an insulated housing (2) having a base portion (21) and a mating portion (22) extending forwardly from the base portion; a plurality of terminals (3) received in the insulated housing; a retainer (214) formed on the base portion, said retainer defining a cavity (215) with a rear outlet; a sensor (7) accommodated in the cavity of the retainer; and a lid member (8) covering the rear outlet of the retainer.
Abstract:
A cable connector assembly (100) according to the present invention includes an insulator (2), a PCB (5) and a wire management member (4). The insulator includes a front side, a rear side, a number of terminal passages (24) between the front side and the rear side, and a number of terminals (3) respectively mounted in the terminal passages, each of the terminals has a tail (33) extended out of the rear side of the insulator. The PCB is located behind the insulator and includes a number of first conductive pads (51) which connect with the corresponding terminals and a number of second conductive pads (52) which is soldered to a number of wires (6), the first conductive pads electrically connect with the corresponding second conductive pads. The wire management member is held by the insulator, and defines a number of wire management grooves (421) above the PCB and adjacent to the second conductive pads, the wire management grooves receives the corresponding wires for enabling the wires to be respectively soldered to the second conductive pads.
Abstract:
An audio system and method of generating an amplified audio signal comprises a class-D audio amplifier; and a battery directly connected to the class-D audio amplifier, wherein the direct connection between the battery and the class-D audio amplifier achieves a power efficiency greater than approximately 90%. The audio system may further comprise an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) adapted to digitize an output voltage of the battery and digital signal processing to maintain constant audio volume regardless of the battery voltage drift.
Abstract:
An exemplary backlight module includes a light guide plate (12), an illuminator (14), and a frame (16) receiving the light guide plate and the illuminator. The light guide plate includes a light incident surface (122) and has a cutout defined in a corner thereof at one end of the light incident surface. The illuminator is located adjacent to the light incident surface. The frame includes a stopper (166) engagingly received in the cutout such that the stopper blocks movement of the light guide plate toward the illuminator.
Abstract:
Automatic control and fuel saving means for internal combustion engines, comprising: at least one centrifugal speed sensor having at least one pair of flyweights, which flyweights are disposed in the guide tracks on a holder, the said guide tracks are such orientated that the components of the centrifugal forces of the flyweights in the guide track directions substantially match the elastic forces of the spring exerting on the flyweights; a mode shifting device connected to the said speed sensor and to the manual operating mechanisms, the said mode shifting device alternately puts the engine into the automatic control mode by the said speed sensor or into the manual control mode.
