摘要： A plurality of recording heads for ejecting inks of different colors are reciprocally moved relative to a recording medium, and printing operations are performed by executing main scans in forward and backward scans of the recording heads. In this case, an area printable in a single main scan is recorded by performing a plurality of main scans using a plurality of thinning patterns in which an m.times.n pixel group is defined as a unit pixel group, and the pixel groups are arranged at non-neighboring positions, and which have a complementary arrangement relationship therebetween. A high-quality color image free from time difference nonuniformity, and density nonuniformity caused by, e.g., variations of recording elements is obtained at high speed.

摘要： A replaceable ink cartridge, usable with a bubble jet printer, includes a container having front, back, top bottom and side walls, the container being divided internally into a first chamber and a second chamber having a common partition extending downward perpendicularly toward the bottom wall to provide an opening between the chambers formed by the partition proximate to the bottom wall. The first chamber contains a reservoir of liquid ink and is generally sealed from ambient air except through the opening, and the second chamber has an air vent for admitting ambient air into the second chamber and an ink supply outlet in the front wall. The second chamber contains a sponge-like material for retaining ink, at least one groove in the second chamber side of the partition extending from the opening and terminating at a point partly up the partition to form an air flow passage from the second chamber to the first chamber, the sponge-like material being positioned in the second chamber to permit flow of air from the air vent to the groove when the level of retained ink in the sponge-like material is proximate to the point where the groove terminates. The container is removably mountable in a printer mounting with the bottom wall facing downward and the ink supply outlet facing an ink jet print head so that the ink supply outlet is connectable to an ink port of the ink jet print head.

摘要： A replaceable ink cartridge, usable with a bubble jet printer, comprises a container formed by front, back, top and bottom walls, and two side walls providing major surfaces of said container, with a partition dividing the container into first and second chambers communicating with each other through an opening formed by the partition proximate to the bottom wall. The first chamber, which is generally sealed from ambient air except through the opening, contains a reservoir of liquid ink, and the second chamber contains a sponge-like material for producing a negative pressure whereby ink is deliverable from the first chamber through the opening to an ink supply outlet in the front wall proximate to the bottom wall. The partition has at least one groove for forming an air flow passage from the second chamber to the first chamber through the opening, thereby permitting introduction of air into the first chamber and flow of liquid ink to the ink supply outlet through the opening. The container is removably mountable in a printer mounting with the bottom wall facing downward and the front wall facing an ink jet print head so that the ink supply outlet is connectable to an ink port of the print head.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus and ink jet recording method record using different kinds of ink each having the same series color and a different density. The jet recording apparatus includes a converting unit for converting an input image density signal into an output image density signal, a binary unit for converting the output image density signal into binary data, an inverting unit for inverting the binary data, and a distributing unit for the binary data inverted and binary data to be inverted to drive data for an ink discharge unit and drive data for another ink discharge unit. Density unevenness and texture which arise from an image process, particularly a binary process, can be prevented. Different kinds of ink, each of which has the same series color and a different density, are respectively scanned so as not to overlap on the same pixel. Density unevenness due to ink soaking can be suppressed because different kinds of ink each having the same series color and a different density are not shot at the same position.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus and ink jet recording method record using different kinds of ink each having the same series color and a different density.
