    摘要: A driving apparatus for a plasma display panel with a pulse generator to supply an alternating pulse to an electrode, and an energy recovering unit to store charges from a discharge cell when the pulse voltage decreases or to output the stored charges to the discharge cell when the pulse voltage increases. The energy recovering unit has a magnetic switch, coupled with the discharge cell and an energy storage capacitor, with variable inductance to control transient time when the pulse transitions from a first voltage to a second voltage. The transient time is based on LC resonance of the magnetic switch inductance and panel capacitance, and can be reduced to improve resolution of the panel. Insulated gate bipolar transistors can be used with the magnetic switches to reduce power loss during switching and in the on-state, and can sustain high voltages necessary for high concentration Xe discharge gas.

    摘要: A display device which can operate at lower driving voltages and have improved luminous efficiency is disclosed. The display device includes: a first substrate and a second substrate with a plurality of cells therebetween, a plurality of first and second electrodes arranged between the first and second substrates, insulating layers respectively formed on the first electrodes. Electrons are accelerated and emitted into the cells when voltages are applied to the first and second electrodes. A gas within the cells is excited by the electrons, and light emitting layers formed between the first and second substrates or on outer sides of the first and second substrates emits light.

    摘要: Provided is a plasma display panel. The plasma display panel comprises: a front substrate; a rear substrate opposing the front substrate; a plurality of discharge electrodes disposed inside the substrates; a plurality of light emitting layers formed inside discharge cells; and an electron emitting source disposed inside the discharge cells so as to supply electrons, the area of electron emitting source differing in each of the discharge cells. The electron emitting source is installed in the discharge cells such that an electron emission characteristic is improved and brightness and luminous efficiency of the plasma display panel can be improved. The area of the electron emitting source or the number of electron emitting sources in each of the discharge cells differs such that a discharge characteristic in the discharge cells having lower brightness can be improved.
