    摘要: Improved field emission cathodes comprise a fiber of highly aligned and densely packed single-wall carbon nanotubes, double-wall carbon nanotubes, multi-wall carbon nanotubes, grapheme nanoribbons, carbon nanofibers, and/or carbon planar nanostructures. The fiber cathodes provide superior current carrying capacity without degradation or adverse effects under high field strength testing. The fibers also can be configured as multi-fiber field emission cathodes, and the use of low work function coatings and different tip configurations further improves their performance.

    摘要: A plasma display panel includes a front plate and a rear plate provided to be opposed to the front plate. The front plate includes a display electrode, a dielectric layer for covering the display electrode, and a protective layer for covering the dielectric layer. The protective layer includes a base layer, and a metal oxide formed on the base layer. The metal oxide has a ratio from 0.1 to 10 inclusive between the maximum intensity of photoluminescence at a wavelength ranging from 200 nm to less than 300 nm and the maximum intensity of photoluminescence at a wavelength ranging from 300 nm to less than 500 nm. Furthermore, the metal oxide contains aluminum from 50 ppm to 200 ppm inclusive in terms of weight concentration, and fluorine from 150 ppm to 600 ppm inclusive in terms of weight concentration.

    摘要: A forming method of a protective film made of oxide containing any one of calcium oxide (CaO), strontium oxide (SrO) and barium oxide (BaO) and having a higher band gap than that of magnesium oxide (MgO) (higher than 7.9 eV) is provided. By adjusting a time constant of a protective film to a predetermined value or larger, the voltage drop time is adjusted so as to be usable for a plasma display panel. At this time, the time constant τ(=C×R) defined by the discharge capacitance C and the protective film resistance R is referenced.

    摘要: A plasma display panel has high definition, high luminance, and low power consumption. In the plasma display panel, the front panel is provided thereon with display electrodes, a dielectric layer, and a protective layer. The display electrodes are formed on the front glass substrate. The dielectric layer coats the display electrodes, and the protective layer is formed on the dielectric layer. The rear panel is provided thereon with address electrodes and barrier ribs for partitioning the discharge space in the direction crossing to the display electrodes. The front and rear panels are opposed to each other with a discharge space therebetween filled with a discharge gas. The protective layer on the dielectric layer includes an underlying film, and aggregated particles adhered on the underlying film, the aggregated particles being formed by aggregating crystal grains of magnesium oxide. The underlying film contains metal oxides composed of at least two oxides selected from magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, strontium oxide, and barium oxide. According to an X-ray diffraction analysis of the surface of the underlying film, in a specific plane direction, the metal oxides have a diffraction angle peak between the minimum and maximum diffraction angles of simple substances of the oxides composing the metal oxides.
