Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and methods to determine relationships, group memberships, and social networks and circles automatically through an analysis of media content, such as photos or videos, and ascertaining the connections between individuals or groups. Embodiments include identifying individuals in photos with or without other people in different situations, and developing a context based on objects in the photo. The extracted context may be stored in a predefined ontology structure in a database and analyzed to determine relationships or group memberships. A database of automatically determined relationships may be analyzed in order to provide relationship recommendations, social advice, or to sup port law enforcement investigations. The database may be continuously updated with additional information provided by individuals or obtained through a secondary socal network that includes user media or social information.

Abstract: Particular embodiments described herein provide for an electronic device, such as a notebook computer, laptop, or tablet that includes a circuit board coupled to a plurality of electronic components (which may include any type of components, elements, circuitry, etc.). One particular example implementation of an electronic device may include a display portion partitioned into a plurality of display regions, and a plurality of sensors. Each of the plurality of sensors is associated with a particular display region of the plurality of display regions and is configured to determine whether a portion of an electronic device cover is within proximity to the sensor. The electronic device further includes logic to determine a display state of the particular display region associated with the sensor based upon whether the portion of the electronic device cover is determined to be within proximity of the sensor.

Abstract: A mechanism is described for facilitating dynamic detection and intelligent use of segmentation on flexible display screens according to one embodiment. A method of embodiments, as described herein, includes detecting, via one or more touch sensors, alterations in current in and around one or more areas of a flexible display screen, where the alterations represent pressure being applied to cause at least one of bending, rolling, and curving of the flexible display screen at the one or more areas. The method may further include dividing the flexible display screen into a plurality of zones corresponding to the one or more areas, where the marking/dividing logic is further to mark a plurality of portions of the plurality of zones to serve as a plurality of segments. The method may further include facilitating displaying of contents via the plurality of segments of the flexible display screen.

Abstract: Technologies for sensor action verification include a local computing device to receive a request for the local computing device to perform a sensor action from a remote computing device. The local computing device verifies the received request to confirm that the remote computing device is authorized to request the local computing device to perform the sensor action and performs, by a sensor controller of the local computing device, the requested sensor action in response to verification of the received request. The sensor controller manages operation of one or more sensors of the local computing device. The local computing device transmits a response message to the remote computing device indicating whether the requested sensor action has been performed by the sensor controller of the local computing device.

Abstract: A smart fabric may include a smart material such as an Electroactive Polymer (EAP). An adaptive garment formed from the smart fabric may change textile density based on user needs, sensor states, context, and other inputs. In various embodiments, the EAP enables the adaptive garment to change textile density based on a sport or activity, based on calendar or scheduled events, or based on user preferences. In various embodiments, these smart fabrics may be implemented in sporting garments, uniforms, multiple-day clothing (e.g., for travel or military usage), furniture fabric, curtains, or other implementations.
