摘要: An image pickup apparatus comprising a circuit for forming an electric charge image corresponding to an optical image of an object to be image-picked up in a photo-photo conversion element constructed of two transparent electrodes with at least a photoconductive layer and a photo-modulation layer being interposed therebetween, by applying a light from the object to the photoconductive layer, a circuit for reading the electric charge image corresponding to the optical image of the object as optical information, by applying a reading light to the photo-modulation layer, means for erasing the electric charge image corresponding to the optical image of the object, wherein an erase operation and read operation are intermittently repeated for the electric charge image, and the reading means operating in a limited period which is substantially short compared to a period in which the forming means operate. In a similar image pickup apparatus the reading means operate only in a period in which the light incident to the photo-photo conversion element is intercepted by the optical shutter.A further apparatus comprising a circuit for transferring the electrical charge image formed in the first photo-photo conversion element to a second photo-photo conversion element during a period substantially shorter than the writing period by reading and writing the electrical charge image, optically at a time, from the first to second photo-photo conversion elements respectively, and a circuit for reading optical image information of an optical image supplied to the second photo-photo conversion element by applying a reading light to the reading light input side of the second photo-photo conversion element.

摘要: A photo-to-photo conversion element is disclosed. The element has, in an arranged sequence in line; a first optical member having a wavelength selectivity permitting to pass a write light having a first wavelength range, and to block an erase light; a first transparent electrode; a photoconductive layer; a second optical member having a wavelength selectivity permitting to reflect a read light having a second wavelength range and to pass the erase light; a third optical member for electrooptically modulating a light incident thereto through the second optical member in response to the strength distribution of an electric field applied thereto; and a second transparent electrode; the erase light having a wavelength out of both the first and second wavelength ranges.

摘要: A voltage is electrostatically induced at a sensing device in correspondence with a surface potential of a measured object. In the case where the sensing device uses a field effect transistor in transferring detected information, there are some factors decreasing the accuracy of detection. Various new arrangements prevent such decreases in the accuracy of detection. In the case of the surface potential of the measured object corresponds to an optical image, new arrangements ensure accurate detection of the optical image. In some cases, color component signals are obtained on the basis of a detection signal.

摘要: A charge image information transferring apparatus includes a recording member having a charge latent image; a photo-modulation member; a device for moving the recording member and the photo-modulation member relative to each other; and a device for transferring information, represented by the charge latent image. from the recording member to the photo-modulation member. An electric field of the charge latent image is applied to the photo-modulation member when a distance between the recording member and the photo-modulation member becomes equal to or smaller than a predetermined distance. The applied electric field has a magnitude which exceeds a threshold value with respect to a change in a condition of the photo-modulation member.

摘要: A set of birefringent members disposed in a path of light has an input surface via which the light enters the set and an output surface via which the light exits from the set. The birefringent members are designed and arranged so that the light separates into an ordinary ray and an extraordinary ray after the light enters the set via the input surface, that the ordinary ray and the extraordinary ray proceed along different courses respectively in the set, and that the ordinary ray and the extraordinary ray meet together where the ordinary ray and the extraordinary ray exit from the set via the output surface.
