Abstract:
The recording medium includes a data structure having at least first and second clip stream files and a playlist. The first clip stream file includes video data representing at least one still image, and the second clip stream file includes at least audio data. The playlist includes at least one playitem and at least one sub-playitem. The playitem indicates at least a portion of the first clip stream file to reproduce, and the sub-playitem indicates at least a portion of the second clip stream file to reproduce.
Abstract:
There are provided an information storage medium capable of real-time recording/playback of digital moving picture information, and a digital information recording/playback system using this medium. In a medium that records/plays back data including video data and control information, the control information (DA21 in FIG. 4; RTR_VMG in FIG. 30) includes information (VOBU entry in FIG. 31) for accessing a specific portion (VOBU) of the video data.

Abstract:
A plurality of standard television broadcast programs recorded on a recording medium are selected. Video and audio signals of one of the selected plurality of standard television broadcast programs are reproduced. Markers are attached to a standard video-and-audio part of the reproduced video and audio signals of the one of the selected plurality of standard television broadcast programs. The standard video-and-audio part is registered. Video and audio signals of another one of the selected plurality of standard television broadcast programs are serially reproduced. The reproduced video and audio signals are compared with the standard video and audio signals of the registered standard video-and-audio part to thereby determine a video-and-audio part of the reproduced video and audio signals, which is substantially matched with the registered standard video-and-audio part.
Abstract:
A plurality of identification miniature images for to-be-replayed objects is displayed simultaneously on a manipulating-function menu screen with taking one of the to-be-replayed objects corresponding to one of the identification miniature images in a predetermined position as a to-be-replayed object of interest. There are displayed a first group of a plurality of manipulating-function items for the respective to-be-replayed objects and a second group of a plurality of manipulating-function items related to a plurality of to-be-replayed objects. While any one of the manipulating-function items included in the first group is being selected, the identification miniature image corresponding to the to-be-replayed object of interest is displayed for differentiation from the other identification miniature images. Thus, there is provided a user interface having a high operability and visibility and destined for selection of individual items for manipulation of the to-be-replayed objects such as contents and media, selection of items for manipulation of the plurality of to-be-replayed objects, and other similar operations.
Abstract:
A cinematographic system records motion-picture images on an elongate information recording medium which includes either a charge storage layer or a light modulating layer. The recorded images are reproduced and projected onto a screen. If the charge storage layer is employed, the motion-picture images are recorded as corresponding electric charge images photoelectrically converted from optical images, and if the light modulating layer is employed, image information corresponding to the motion-picture images is recorded under an electric field depending on electric charge images photoelectrically converted from optical images.
Abstract:
There is provided an apparatus for reproducing a charge latent image prerecorded on a recording medium composed of at least a photo-modulation layer and a charge holding layer laminated thereto and holding said charge latent image. The apparatus has two electrodes interposing the recording medium therebetween. The electrodes are connected to each other and one of which is spaced from the recording medium. A reading light is allowed to permeate the photo-modulation layer. The apparatus also has a vibrator which vibrates one of the electrodes to modulate an electric field generated between the electrodes by the charge latent image prerecorded on the recording medium. The reading light is then electro-optically modulated to reproduce the charge latent image.
Abstract:
An image recording and/or reproducing apparatus including a recording unit having a recording driving mechanism for recording a plurality of images in the form of electrostatic pattern on different regions of a photosensitive member, a reading unit having a beam source and capable of scanning the photosensitive member by an electron beam so as to convert the recorded pattern into electric signals, and a connecting member for connecting the recording unit and the reading unit without causing any change in the states of these units. This apparatus makes it possible to record and/or to reproduce images with a high image quality. The connecting member includes a container accommodating the recording unit and the reading unit. Alternatively, the connecting member is adapted to keep a portion of the recoding unit and a portion of the reading unit in close contact with each other.
