Abstract: A display device includes a substrate, a plurality of detection electrodes, a drive circuit, a detector, and a first switching circuit. The detection electrodes are provided in a display area of the substrate. The drive circuit supplies a drive signal to the detection electrodes. The detector receives, from the detection electrodes, a detection signal corresponding to a capacitance change in the detection electrodes occurring when the drive signal is supplied. The first switching circuit is coupled to the detector via wiring and provided between the detection electrodes and the detector. The first switching circuit changes the number of detection electrodes electrically coupled to one of the wiring based on the detection signal.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a sensor-equipped display device includes a display panel which includes a sensor driving electrode disposed in a display area for displaying an image, detection electrodes each including a body portion opposed to the sensor driving electrode in the display area and a broadened portion connected to the body portion and formed to be wider than the body portion, and a lead line disposed in a non-display area outside the display area and electrically connected to the broadened portion. Abstract: A sensing device includes a plurality of sensing electrodes arranged in the row and column directions to detect a close object, a plurality of wirings connected to each of the plurality of sensing electrodes, a sensing circuit connected to the plurality of wirings and detecting voltage values of a plurality of sensing electrodes in a plurality of sensing periods and a calculation circuit calculating a position of the close object in proximity using the voltage values detected by the sensing circuit. The sensing circuit uses a set of sensing electrodes adjacent to each other in row and column direction as a sensing unit, sets the plurality of sensing periods consecutively, and changes the sensing electrodes included in the sensing unit to be different by one row in the row direction or one column for each sensing periods.
