    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes an insulating substrate including a first area and a second area adjacent to the first area, the insulating substrate including a first through hole formed in the second area which is formed thinner than the first area, a pad electrode disposed above the first through hole, a signal line electrically connected to the pad electrode, a line substrate including a connection line and disposed below the insulating substrate, a conductive material disposed inside the first through hole to electrically connect the pad electrode and the connection line, a first protection member disposed below the first area, and a second protection member disposed below the first protection member.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal layer, a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate includes a light reflection type of first pixel electrode and a first alignment film. The second substrate includes a counter-electrode and a second alignment film. A first alignment treatment direction is inclined in a second direction of rotation at an angle of 110° to 130° with respect to in a second alignment treatment direction. A liquid crystal material is used which contains an optically active substance which gives liquid crystal molecules a twisting force from the second alignment film toward the first alignment film in the second direction of rotation.

The backlight includes a light source, a main light guide portion formed in the shape of a flat plate and an approach portion.     Abstract: According to one embodiment, a liquid display device includes a liquid crystal display panel provided with pixel which includes pixel electrode, and has gradation values that vary, a driver which drives the pixel electrode, and a processor which supplies, if the gradation value of the pixel varies, the driver with a correction image signal based on an addition image signal in which a voltage based on the gradation value and a compensation voltage are added. The compensation voltage is based on pixel capacitances prior to and subsequent to variation of the gradation value and a voltage subsequent to the variation of the gradation value.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate unit including pixel electrodes arranged in a matrix configuration, a second substrate unit including counter electrodes, and a liquid crystal layer. The pixel electrodes include a first and a second pixel electrode arranged to be adjacent along one of the row direction or the column direction. An inter-pixel region is provided between the first and the second pixel electrodes. The counter electrodes include a first and a second opposing portion arranged to be adjacent along the other of the row direction or the column direction. An inter-counter electrode region is provided between the first and the second opposing portions. The inter-counter electrode region overlaps the inter-pixel region. A light-shielding layer is provided in the second substrate unit, and covers the inter-counter electrode region and the inter-pixel region.
