摘要: In certain embodiments, an equalization device for a wireless communication receiver includes multiple adjusting means coupled between corresponding multiple weighting means and a combining means. The multiple weighting means performs a weight process on a received multipath signal to obtain multiple weight results, respectively, according to a plurality of adjustable weight coefficients. The multipath signal includes a known training sequence and user data that may both experience channel fading. The adjusting means compares the weight results of the known training sequence with respective multiple known reference signals, and respectively adjusts the weight coefficient of each weighting means by utilizing the comparison results so that the weighting means weight the user data by utilizing the adjusted weight coefficient. The combining means combines the weight results of the user data to obtain a combined equalization signal. Certain embodiments of the equalization device may be implemented on a mobile terminal to mitigate the effects of wireless channel fading.

摘要: A maintenance station includes means for disinfecting, drying, recharging, and communicating with one or more hearing aids using light. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a fluorescent lamp is primarily for disinfecting a hearing aid, an incandescent lamp is primarily for recharging a hearing aid, and a light emitting diode is primarily for communicating with a hearing aid. All power dissipated within the station aids in drying the hearing aids within.

摘要: A hearing aid includes a case, a photovoltaic cell located within the case, and a light gathering member optically coupled to the photovoltaic cell. The photovoltaic cell is preferably a multi-junction cell and the light gathering member gathers light at the wavelengths preferentially absorbed by the multi-junction cell.

摘要: A hearing aid includes a speaker in a tip that is located in an ear canal. The tip includes a coupling, a retainer that mechanically engages the coupling, and a sleeve axially surrounding the retainer. The retainer attenuates lower frequencies than are attenuated by the sleeve. The sleeve is preferably a foam rubber and the retainer is preferably a composite material. A flange on the retainer reflects sound back into the sleeve for additional attenuation. It has been discovered that operation is improved if the outside diameter of the sleeve and the outside diameter of the retainer are in the ratio of approximately 1.75:1.

摘要: A method for forming a thin film resistor includes providing a sputter target having one or more silicon containing components and chromium diboride. For example, the one or more silicon containing components may include silicon and/or silicon carbide. The resistor film is then sputter deposited on a surface using a nitrogen containing sputter gas. The resistor material generally is sputtered to a thickness in the range of about 125 .ANG. to about 500 .ANG. while maintaining a desirable sheet resistance. The resistor film may be used in one or more electrical circuits, such as in an implantable medical device.
