摘要: A process is disclosed for the preparation of zinc alkyl chain growth products via a catalysed chain growth reaction of an alpha-olefin on a zinc alkyl, wherein the chain growth catalyst system employs a group 3-10 transition metal, or a group 3 main group metal, or a lanthanide or actinide complex, and optionally a suitable activator. The products can be further converted into alpha-olefins by olefin displacement of the grown alkyls as alpha-olefins from the zinc alkyl chain growth product, or into primary alcohols, by oxidation of the resulting zinc alkyl chain growth product to form alkoxide compounds, followed by hydrolysis of the alkoxides.

摘要: A process for producing a transition metal complex of formula (B) wherein M is Fe[II], Fe[III], Co[I], Co[II], Co[III], Mn[l], Mn[II], Mn[III], Mn(IV], Ru[II], Ru[III] or Ru[IV]; X represents an atom or group covalently or ionically bonded to the transition metal M; T is the oxidation state of the transition metal M and b is the valency of the atom or group X; R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6 and R7 are independently selected from hydrogen, halogen, hydrocarbyl, substituted hydrocarbyl, heterohydrocarbyl or substituted heterohydrocarbyl; and when any two or more of R1-R7 are hydrocarbyl, substituted hydrocarbyl, heterohydrocarbyl or substituted heterohydrocarbyl, the two or more can be linked to form one or more cyclic substituents; comprising reacting together in a single stage reaction components comprising (1) precursors capable of forming Ligand (B) and (2) a compound of the formula M[T]-(T/b)X. The complex can be used as a catalyst for the polymerisation of 1-olefins.

摘要: A polymerization process for the preparation of vinylic polymers from the corresponding vinylic monomers which process comprises the step of reacting a vinylic monomer in the presence of a catalyst system comprising a) a compound of general formula (I) where M is any metal capable of coordinating to an enolate or delocalized enolate-like species; B1, B2, B3 and B4 are chosen from nitrogen, oxygen, sulphur or phosphorus containing moieties wherein each of said nitrogen, oxygen, sulphur or phosporus is linked to at least one carbon atom of an organic group and to M; X1 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, H, halogen, alkoxy, thiol aryloxy, ester, b) a metal, complex of general formula (II) where A is selected from the group consisting of nickel, iron, cobalt, chromium, manganese, titanium, zirconium, vanadium and the rare earth metals; L1, L2, L3 and L4 are ligands and c) a Lewis acid of general formula (III) wherein at least one of W, Y or Z is capable of forming a co-ordination bond with A and the others of W, Y and Z are bulky groups; D is selected from the group concsisting of aluminium, magnesium, zinc and boron

摘要: Novel compounds are disclosed comprising the skeletal unit depicted in Formula (I) wherein O is oxygen; N is nitrogen; R1 is hydrogen, hydrocarbyl, substituted hydrocarbyl, heterohydrocarbyl or substituted heterohydrocarbyl; R3, R4, R5 and R6 are hydrogen or hydrocarbyl or heterohydrocarbyl groups containing 1 to 10 carbon atoms and the R12 groups are independently selected from hydrogen, hydrocarbyl, substituted hydrocarbyl, heterocarbyl and substituted heterocarbyl; A is carbon or silicon; and r is 1 or more; M is scandium, yttrium, or a Group IV or Group V metal or a lanthanide or actinide; T is the oxidation state of M and is II or greater; X represents a monodentate atom or group covalently or ionically bonded to M; L is a mono- or bidentate molecule datively bound to M, and n is from 0 to 5.
