    摘要: Systems and methods for advising a flight crew member that an enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS), for example, may continue to provide terrain alerts, cautions, warnings, or the like because an intended landing site for the aircraft is not recognized within a database of airports. An unknown airport advisory is generated and broadcast after the aircraft is in a landing configuration, when the aircraft is greater than a threshold distance from the nearest landing site in the database, but before the terrain alerts are broadcast. The pilot may actuate a “terrain inhibit” selection device after receiving the advisory. The inhibit device may deactivate or mute subsequent alerts generated by the EGPWS during that particular landing sequence.

If the aircraft is determined within the landing operational mode, the processing device determines whether aircraft speed is less than a previously defined threshold speed and generates an alert signal if it is determined that the aircraft's speed is less than the previously defined threshold speed. The processor accesses the RNP data and instructions from the memory, and uses the communication device to obtain flight information from a Flight Management System of an aircraft. When the processor determines that the aircraft is in RNP space, the processor projects an RNP envelope and modifies a warning envelope of an EGPWS to coincide with the RNP envelope if the EGPWS warning envelope extends farther than the RNP envelope.
