An electric lock comprising a solenoid which has a permanent magnet for attracting a plunger and an electromagnetic coil which is positioned adjacent the permanent magnet so as to control the magnetic flux of the permanent magnet. A cam member which has a cam surface formed at one end thereof engages an engaging pin when a bolt operating member is rotated so as to lock the electric lock so that an engaging rod is forced to move in the direction opposite to the direction in which an engaging bolt is biased, the other end of the engaging rod being connected to the plunger of the solenoid. A positive voltage application unit responds to an unlocking signal so as to temporarily cause a current to flow through the electromagnetic coil in such a way that the flux produced by the electromagnetic coil cancels the magnetic flux produced by the permanent magnet.

A board suitable for use as a front cover of a vehicle instrument panel. The board consists of a transparent plate and an opaque shade film which is bonded to a major surface of the transparent plate and is formed with a number of substantially uniformly distributed light-transmitting holes. To adequately limit diffusion of light transmitted from the shade film side, the holes are designed such that the ratio of the hole diameter to the hole depth, i.e. shade film thickness, is greater than 0.23 and smaller than 0.5 and that the ratio of the hole diameter to the distance of each hole form every adjacent hole is greater than 1.2 and smaller than 25. The exposed front surface of the transparent plate is finished to a surface roughness of 0.15-0.40 micron so as to become a difusely reflective surface to thereby prevent undesirable reflection of extraneous light such as sunlight from this surface. The holed shade film is usually formed by using a photosensitive resin and is preferably matte-finished at least in its inner surfaces defining the respective light-transmitting holes.

It is an assignment to provide a carbon monoxide removing catalyst whose catalytic activity is higher than conventional carbon-monoxide-methanation-reaction catalyst. It is characterized in that it comprises an oxide support composed of an oxide containing Co and Zr, and a noble metal catalyst selected from the group consisting of Ru, Pt, Rh and Pd, and loaded on the oxide support, and it can remove carbon monoxide by means of carbon monoxide methanation reaction. A carbon monoxide removing catalyst of the present invention is such that such an effect is available that the catalytic activity with respect to carbon monoxide methanation reaction is higher when being low temperatures, compared with carbon monoxide removing catalysts which use oxides of Zr—Fe, Zr—Mn, and the like, or zirconia, as the support. In particular, it is desirable that a number-of-atom ratio of Co/Zr can be 1/3 or more and 3/1 or less.
