摘要: In this invention, metal terminals are held by a connecting member, connectable to a connector housing, so as to stabilize the posture of each metal terminal, thereby facilitating the fitting thereof with its mating metal terminal.According to the present invention, a connector includes a connector housing for receiving metal terminals therein, and a terminal holder connected to the connector housing in a two-stage manner, that is, first in a provisionally-connected condition and then in a completely-connected condition. In the provisionally-connected condition, a flexible deformable plate of the terminal holder rests on push-up projections of the connector housing to thereby allow the insertion and withdrawal of the metal terminal relative to a terminal receiving chamber. In the completely-connected condition, a terminal holding portion on the flexible deformable plate urges and fixes the metal terminal.

摘要: The connector consists of a connector housing with a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers and a terminal locking member mounted to the rear portion of the connector housing. The terminal locking member is fitted to the connector housing in one of two engagement states--a preliminarily engaged state and a fully engaged state. The terminal locking member has resilient support pieces for fixing the terminal lugs in the terminal accommodating chambers. When the terminal locking member is moved backwardly from the preliminarily engaged state, the resilient support pieces ride on triangular engagement projections formed on the connector housing, moving outwardly out of the insertion path of the terminal lugs. This allows the terminal lug in question to be pulled out without disengaging the terminal locking member from the connector housing.

摘要: A semi-coupling detection connector to detect a semi-coupling state and to ensure an uncoupling operation is provided. A first connector 2 is equipped with an energized slider 4. A second connector 3 is provided with an abutting portion 5 and a locking portion 20. The slider 4 is provided with an abutting arm 24 having an abutting portion 25. The first connector 2 is provided with a locking arm 38, having a locking portion 29, and a guide portion 36. A slide portion 40 is provided on a side of the locking arm 38 near the locking portion 29. The slider 4 is provided with a first guide sloping portion 27 and a second guide sloping portion 28. The slide portion 40 is provided on both sides of the locking arm 38. When the locking portion 29 runs onto the second sloping portion 28, the abutting portion 25 runs onto the guide portion 36, and the abutment of between the abutting portions 5,25 is released. An abutting portion 39 is provided on a bending side of the locking arm 38, an abutting portion 41 is provided on the slider 4, and slant planes 39a,41a of the respective abutting portions 39,41 abut each other in a locked state of the connectors.

摘要: A connector housing for use in a wiring harness of motor vehicles, has a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers disposed along a length of the connector housing, the through-hole communicating through the width of those chambers, with a jig insertion hole having a connecting operation checking member therein, the jig insertion hole formed in a face of each of a first and a second opposite side wall of the connector housing, and an insertion position connecting jig inserted through the through-hole from the jig insertion hole in the face of the first opposite side wall toward the jig insertion hole in the face of the second opposite side wall whereby the connecting operation checking member of each of the jig insertion holes is removed so as to indicate completion of a correcting operation for electric terminals inserted into the plurality of chambers of the connector housing.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a waterproof connector housing, that enables the formation of a uniform packing ring which is an integral part of the housing by engaging a hollow body of a housing with a trapezoidal engaging portion provided on a male mold, holding the housing by contacting tightly an inner wall of the hollow body with the trapezoidal engaging portion to align the center of the male mold with that of the housing, and injecting a rubber material into a packing ring forming space uniformly defined by one of both of the male and female mold through a rubber supply paths of the housing. The housing having the hollow body with tapered shoulder, a male mold having the trapezoidal engaging portion and a female mold beveled or thinned at the open edge are employed for implementing the method.

摘要: A terminal retaining member is defined by a flexible retaining piece which can be bent. The flexible retaining piece is extended in an arch-like, bent manner between opposite sides edges of a retaining hole open to an outer surface of a connector housing. After a terminal is inserted into a terminal receiving chamber, the flexible retaining piece is pressed to be received into the retaining hole, thereby retaining the terminal.

摘要: To inspect the conduction of terminals of a connector having a rear terminal holder (65) without damaging the rear terminal holder, the connector (49) to be tested is first fitted to a connector support member (39) of the terminal conduction test jig (33); and then a test body (41) of the terminal conduction test jig is moved toward the connector support member (39) to first engage the rear terminal holder (65) with the connector housing (55) normally and then inspect conduction of the terminals (35) of the connector (49). That is, a fitted contact projection (85) of the test body (41) is inserted into the connector housing (55) to engage the rear terminal holder with the connector housing normally; and after that the test body (41) is further moved toward the connector support member (39) to bring terminal conduction test pins (89) into contact with the terminals (35) for terminal conduction test.

摘要: A connector provided with an unlocking member comprises: a female connector housing formed with a locking pawl portion; a male connector housing formed with a flexible locking arm having a locking projection engaged with the locking pawl portion of the female connector housing; an unlocking member formed with an unlock drive projection and a male connector removal portion. When moved within the female connector housing, the unlocking member deforms the flexible locking arm by bringing the unlock drive projection thereof into contact with the locking projection to disengage the locking projection from the locking pawl portion and further removes the male connector housing from the female connector housing by the male connector removal portion thereof. In the connector, since the locking condition of both male and female connector housings can be released simply by pulling-out or pushing-in the unlocking member, it is possible to facilitate connector unlocking work within a narrow space.

And, the manufacturing method includes the steps of: setting a mold for molding a connector housing 1 which has a short shot preventing rib 8 on each of thin sidewall portions 6 formed on both side walls 5; arranging a gate of a runner 3 at a position corresponding to an outside wall of the connector housing; and injecting a melted resin material into the mold through the gate for forming the connector housing 1.
